We will be staying at the Beach Club Villas in a couple of weeks. I have alerted the resort that we will be celebrating my bride-and-joy's 50th Birthday! princess:

Does anyone know what, if anything the resort does or can do to make this a "special" time for her B-Day? I want to order a special cake for her birthday dinner at Citricos, where I have an ADR. Any suggestions would be appreciated! Thanks, Bob

Bob: I don't know what BC might be able to do for a birthday celebration, but I'm curious to know because we'll be there in 2006 for DH's birthday. I hope someone has some ideas!

I understand that the bakery at the GF makes some wonderful cakes and I would think it'd be no problem to deliver one to Citricos. I read somewhere on these boards about someone having the GF bakery send a cake to the Poly, so I'm sure you can have one delivered on GF property. As I recall, the picture and description of the cake I saw was very impressive.

A well placed $20 to the concierge desk will work miracles. How about flowers delivered to your room and breakfast in bed for the special day?

I was just there in September for my 28th birthday. I received a card from Mickey and a birthday button. My birthday certainly wasn't as special as a 50th, but my little gift really made me smile. Best wishes :flower:

WDW concierge staff aren't allowed to accept gratuities, and can be terminated for doing so.

The BCV don't have a concerige level.

Here's what I would do...

1. Call the GF Bakery a few days in advance and oder the cake to be delivered to Citrico's.

2. The wdw florist can deliver flowers to your room.

3. You can order a bottle of wine or champagne from room service as well as tuxedo strawberries--they need 24 hour notice for those.

Sometimes the resort will do something special, but it doesn't always happen, so don't expect anything, and be pleased of it does. :)

I booked a swedish message for my dh's 37th and told Ohana's we were celebrating his birthday that night and they made note of it. I was thinking of calling the GF Conceirge and asking for some suggestions to have something special waiting in the room when we get there. I heard that some people received a picture of Mickey and Minnie along with a birthday wish upon arrival.

I found a site called gifts of a lifetime..you fill out a questionaire about the birthday person and they plan something special.. I am doing it for my daughters 13th in disney...hope it helps you...they will decorate the room and surprise her with something at the park ....
