Birthday Presents

Hi Everyone,
Dd7 will be 8 whilst we are in Florida .Am i allowed to take 'wrapped' presents in the suitcase? Or will they open them to discover if i am hiding anything inside them(does wrapped presents come up on the x-ray ).I would be gutted if when we arrived at our hotel and discovered Dd7 presents all torn open .Thanks guys+gals.x.

i would think the xray machine would go through the wrapping so I would imagine you will be fine

I took wrapped presents in the luggage when we went for DH's 40th a couple of years ago and had now problems. I am sure you will be fine Michelle.

I took a few wrapped presents for my daughter's 16th last summer, no problem at all.

Chances are you will have no problems as others have said but it all depends what they see on the day on their screen, if they are not 100% happy with what they see they will open it.

I agree. There is always a risk that they could be opened. Could you not take them unwrapped and wrap them once you're there?

By the way, you are definitely not allowed to take them wrapped in your cabin baggage.

In hold luggage no problem!

Security opened DD's DSLite in the hand luggage (not wrapped but in a plastic case) and ruined the surprise but she was having it early on the flight anyway. He was very appologetic but at the end of the day he was only doing his job

We took wrapped presents for our DS's 7th birthday in 2003 - no problem.
We also booked a character breakfast and dinner on the day. Breakfast was in Chef Mickey's and we bought a MM watch, wrapped it and Mickey gave it to him at the table.( You have to arrange this through your waitress) He was given a birthay badge to wear which gave the sign for ALL cast members to make a beeline for him. His autograph book is full of birthday greetings, he received phone calls in shops from characters, it seemed like everyone in the parade shook his hand
For dinner we ate at Cinderella's Royal Table, and as luck would have it Cinderella was in the entrance and escorted our family up in the lift to our table. The waiter gave him a birthday card for everyone in the restaurant to sign and we ended the very very long day watching Wishes infront of the castle.
It was a fantastic day, that we all still talk about

Thanks for all your replies,much appreciated .
I think i will take a chance and wrap them,they will only be tiny things from her little Sister,just so she has something to open on the morning she wakes.We will be buying her presents on the day in MK.x.

Sounded like your son had a fantastic day.I have secretly booked breakfast in the Castle for her,and will be picking up her birthday badge+her gift card.Where is it you go and pick up the phone in a shop in MK and hear a birthday message-i can't remember.Do you have to ask a CM first about it?.
We don't have a plan for an evening meal yet,will just see how the day goes as her little sister may not make such a long day.As i reckon we will have to be up about 5-30am.x.

Can't remember the name of the shop. We did not know anything about it, we were as surprised as DS!
The shop was definitely in Main Street, I think about half way up on the right hand side as you face the Castle. If memory serves me right, we had just bought a pencil drawing of Tinkerbelle, when the CM just said to him "Hang on a minute someone has been trying to reach you!" It was Goofy! The CM passed the phone over from behind the counter.

Hope you DD's day is as memorable as our DS's!
