My daughter will be turning 3 soon and i need some ideas. She is really into the princesses and we'll be going in August and she is reallllly excited!princess: I think my whole family is kind of "birthday partied out." So I was hoping someone might have some suggestions for a different kind of party. We really don't want to spend too much, but would like it to be special. Any ideas? TIA

Tea party at home
Have all the girls come in dresses and hats and use your tea pots and fancy tea cups and saucers (or borrow from friends or get plastic ones at the toy store) and serve lemonade and small cookies and tea sandwiches
My sister did this when her daughter was 4 and they loved it
My son's 3rd I took him and some of his friends and their parents to our local zoo and everyone loved it. Also my 4 year old just went to a mini golf party which seemed to be a hit too. Last idea a local gymnastics studio near us does parties for little ones that is really cheap but all the kids get to tumble and have fun etc which my son loved too. Just some thoughts- sometimes just the old fashion birthday party at home with a few games and a cake are the best too!

I don't know if you have a beauty school near you or how many kids you are talking about...But the schools around here do make-over parties.

If not, have one at your house and ask a few friends to help. Have stations like fingernails, makeup (a little shadow and lip gloss), and hair. Then put on a fashion show.

Another idea, have a breakfast party. Kids come with their teddy bears and in their pjs. Turn on cartoons. Serve panCAKES with sprinkles instead of syrup and their "coffee" (warm chocolate milk).

Have a great time.

Well, unless parties are really important to you guys, why not just have a small party without any themes, then really celebrate her b'day on your trip?

I'm just so over parties, so we're going to Disneyland over Memorial Day weekend JUST to celebrate his b'day. Next year I've let hubby know that we're going on a cruise for DS's b'day. The party things are just not worth it to me!

Other than that I don't have any ideas. We did a Buzz theme for DS's b'day where MIL and two of our friends showed up.

for my daughter's 3rd bday we did a princess tea party her friends dressed up
as their favorite princesses. we have a really cute small tea set and i brought it to walmart and they made a plane cake in a solid color that matched the tea set and used white icing to look like a squiggly table cloth and put the tea set on top. Eeryone thought the gourmet cake store in town made it. also i purches cute little debbies (the swiss rolls sliced, and the pretty cup cakes) and unwrapped them and put them on crystal serving dishes. this was very inexpensive and everyone had a great time. you can take pictures of the kids if you have a digital camera and printer and that can be the party favor, just the picture. ( the parents will love not having children go home will a party favor bag filled with junk an candy) also some of the moms can purchase cheep prom dresses from good will and dress like princess also, we did this for my niece's party and we all had a great time laughing at each other.

We're doing a Candyland themed party for DD's first b-day in a few weeks. I thought it would be fun for the other kids and the adults. We're going to set up a "candy bar" and let people fill bags as their favor. I am making gingerbread men (using sugar cookie dough though bec kids don't really like gingerbread) and having the kids decorate them. We're going to play Pin the Lollypop on Princess Lolly. I will have the board game out so people can play if they want....I want to rent a popcorn and cotton candy machines but that is kind of pricey so I may not do that....hope this helps!
