Alright gang, I don't know where to put this question and it's not really related to our WDW vaca!

However, I'm throwing an ice cream social bday party for DD-gonna-be-8 next week at a local park. About 15 kids. Need some fun game ideas that are fun yet inexpensive to pull off. I've been googling and pinteresting and nothing has jumped out at me!

Figure if this is the board full of like-minded Disney nut families, certainly ya'll have thrown some good birthday parties in the past!

Please, impart your wisdom! :lovestruc

We're having my DD's 10th birthday party tonight, so I've been in plan mode all week. The entire theme is balloons. We're playing all games involving balloons. I got a spool of tickets from the local party store. The kids will be given tickets when they win. Then I set up a table of prizes the tickets can be redeemed for (think Chuck E Cheese). I got lots of candy bars, packs of gum, and little toys like bouncy balls and fun erasers, etc. The games we are doing are

balloon tied to each persons leg, try to break others without letting yours get broken.

balloon relay race, 2 teams, start with tub full of balloons, try to get as many to the other tub on the far side as possible in one minute, passing them under your chin from person to person.

team game, 2 teams, one kid on each team wears an oversized shirt and the kids try to stuff as many balloons in the shirt in 1 minute.

Balloon pop, fill 144 balloons with glow bracelets. Turn off lights, put balloons all over the room, call the kids in. The pop them and collect the bracelet out of each one they pop. They get a ticket for every glow bracelet they have.

Each kid gets a balloon and a straw, they keep the balloon up by blowing through the straw, last one up is the winner.

Team game, kids form 2 circles. Throw a balloon up for each team. Have an adult caller for each team/circle. Caller calls a name and a body part, for instance Billy knee, now Billy has to hit the balloon up with his knee. Continue on until one teams balloon falls, other team wins.

On the team games everyone on the winning team gets 10 tickets, the losing team gets 5 a piece. On the individual games each winner gets 10 tickets. The kids also start with 10 in their goodie bag and each plate at cake time will have a number on it of how many tickets they get.

This game has always been a big hit. Put a prize or enough prizes for everyone in a small paper bag. Roll up the bag and tape it. Put a label on the bag and write a funny/silly direction such as holding your tongue and sing "row, row, row your boat." Place the bag inside of another bag and write another silly direction on the outside of the bag, such as sing happy birthday to the birthday girl or boy. Place that bag inside of another and repeat until you have one big bag filled with other bags. Then put all the kids in a circle and play music. As they listen to the music they pass the bag along. When the music stops, whoever is left with the bag must do what the bag asks. After doing so, he/she rips the bag off and proceed to pass along the bundle while the music is played and until the last bag is left. Whoever has the last bag wins the prize. However, I like to have a little something for everyone. The kids LOVE this game!

love these ideas. What did you use to tie the balloons to the ankles? We are having an outside party, this would be fun!

this sounds fun!! What did you put in the inside bag? Kind of like a hot-potato game, which will be good for everyone!

Anyone else have any other good ideas?!

Honestly, at a park..I would not worry about organized games. They will be happy to eat, open gifts and play in the park. No organizational games needed. We have done several park parties. Once we did do a pinata, once we had a scavenger hunt (a really easy one as the kids were 4ish and each one got a pair of binoculars to use). We have also given party favors to be used at the park....a kite or a ball or bubbles etc.
