Ok, so I wanted to add my friend's birthday to our ADR's for our June trip. I was told that I can only take note of it on one of our dining ressies. Has it always been this way? Or should I just call everyday and add the birthday to my ADR's one-by-one?

And I know it's not guaranteed that they will do something special, but you never know. By the way, my ADR's are Chef Mickey's, Chefs de France, H/V, Crystal Palace, Le Cellier, Coral Reef and 'Ohana.

And on a related note, should I also let resort reservations know? Thanks!

I'm guessing because most people celebrate their birthday on just one day:confused3 ? Or maybe they think people would take advantage of the (possible) birthday bonuses, if they allowed it noted on every day of a trip?

I'm not sure if you could add the birthday note every day, because aren't ADR's linked? Although if you made the ADR's under different names then I'm sure you could.

I've heard you should let resort reservations know--"just in case". Some people have gotten a free card left in the room or something--and some people have gotten nothing at all. It seems to vary.

Well we have a birthday notation for either DS or DD on almost all of the ADR's I have made for our upcoming birthdy suprise trip for the kids. 90% of those ADR's a CM recommended putting a notation on them. Given most of my ADR's were done either one or two at a time if that makes a difference. So I am not sure if this is "policy". I also am not sure how comfortable I would be as an adult celebrating my bday that much so that is something you might want to take into account. I can bet that if it happened to DH or myself we would think it was cute the first time but after that I think I would quickly get embarrased by it.
I would make a note of it on your resort reservation and then call the actual resort 5 to 7 days ahead of time and say you are coming and your friends bday is so and so. Given nothing is for sure unless you pay for it yourself. That is why we will be ordering from GF and also a Wishes Celebration cruise to make SURE they get fussed over at some point.

For whatever it's worth, my parent's anniversary falls in line with our trip in September and our TA made note of it on the reservations and it showed up in a few places on the reservation paperwork ... I've never been to WDW period, much less during a traditionally celebrated life event, so I don't really know if it makes a difference :confused3

wear the button and remind them when you check-in, even if it's not noted.

i've never heard of such a limitation and in fact, on this upcoming trip, i even called after making all my ADRs and spoke to one CM who added it for me on all my ADRs and was very nice about it.

if it makes you feel comfortable, i'd go ahead and call and talk to another CM

When I made ressies for our upcoming anniversary trip, I did note our anniversary on one of the ADRs (the Jiko one :) ) - the CM kept asking, should I not the anniversary on this meal too for each meal - and I was like, "Sure" for a couple, but then it got kind-of ridiculous. Lol. So, basically, on like 3 dinners it is noted, but I drew the line on every single one, plus lunches.

But, that CM apparently didn't get the memo that you could only note on one!

Hmm....it's funny that every CM treats things differently. Anyway, I guess I'll just call resort ressies to note the birthday and maybe try to speak to another dining CM.

I'm not really expecting anything special to happen. I just thought it'd be a nice addition to my friend's first trip to WDW.

Oh yeah, she has one birthday and she's having it three days before we leave. Thanks for the tips!
