Birthday ideas - Party of 12

I will be going to WDW in December with my family - in total there will be 12 people with 6 kids 8 and under. What ideas do you have for great dining that will be good for the kids and the adults in the party? We've been a bunch of times, but I'm looking to see what ideas you might have that I haven't come up with yet.

For a Birthday meal I would recommend Chef Mickey's at CR.

I like the idea of a buffet character meal. Lots of fun!

What about Japanese? I'm not sure if they have tables big enough for 12, but I bet you could be in two right next to each other.
