So we're planning a -fairly last minute- February trip to Disney to celebrate my daughters 2nd birthday BUT we're going before her actual birthday because when she's two we'll need to pay for her airfare and really paying for a two year old who is going to sit on you and cuddle anyway isn't worth it.

So What I need to know is how will this go down with the Disney folk?
I was planning on picking at least one day that would be her 'birthday day' OR she could wear the birthday pin the whole 4 days we're in the park but I'd get mighty sick of explaining.
Will cast members be a little 'miffed' that we're not there on her actual birthday and are still celebrating?

Her birthday is February 12th and we're going from the 5th to the 11th. The 11th is our 'travel day' so the 10th would be our last day in the park.

The other questions I have are about Disney dream makers (at least I think that's what they're called :s) and the birthday celebration at Plaza Inn.

So Disney dream makers (sorry if that's not what they're actually called but I'm drawing a blank here :p), there's not much information.. I don't actually remember where I heard about them from but I think it was from the Disneyland hotel webpage. We're going to be staying at Paradise Pier (thank GOD for discounts!) and it said something about mentioning birthdays because there will be surprises left in rooms. So when I looked it up I didn't find too much information but I did find something about gift baskets but there were no prices.
So I decided to post on here before calling and annoying anyone!
Has anyone dealt with them before?
I've read reviews about birthday trips in Disney hotels and it just sounds so magical to come home to find that Mickey Mouse left you some balloons :p

And finally (sorry about the length :p) The Plaza Inn birthday celebration,
is this still on? I've never seen or heard about it advertised in the park (they're just full of surprises) but the website said that it was on every day in the afternoon and you get a cake to decorate and it sounds like a lot of fun.
So the questions, A) is it still on? B) Does it need to be your actual birthday to go?

Sorry again about the length guys, I'm totally new here but I'm in LOVE with these boards already :)

Disney doesn't care if it's not really your birthday when you wear a birthday button. Not everyone could go on their actual birthday anyway, but Disney is happy to encourage the spirit of celebration. Get a birthday pin for your daughter and let her wear it for however long you all want to, whether that's one hour one day or all four days of your visit. Cast members will probably give her a bunch of happy birthday wishes.

Perhaps you are thinking about Disney vacation planning when referring to dream makers. I know that if you are staying at a Disney hotel, you can have access to vacation planning who are happy to help enhance your experience. You can request ahead of time to have balloons and an autographed character picture upon check-in at no additional charge. It sounds like your mileage may vary on this request, but we had no difficulty with this the one time we used it. They won't deliver the balloons and picture to your room, but they will give them to you at check-in. As for the other extras, there are indeed all kinds of things you can order from vacation planning including baskets, snacks, and other fun gifts, and these do get delivered. We have never done this since it gets a bit pricey, but I can see how it might be fun for a special occasion. If you contact vacation planning by phone or e-mail (vacationplanning@disneyonline.com was the last e-mail address I have for them, not sure if it's current), you should be able to get a price list for what they offer.

They still do the Plaza Inn birthday celebration. We saw it going on last month when we were there. I think you get a little cake to decorate and eat and a birthday hat and some entertainment from Pat E. Cake. Again, we've never been, but I do think this is something that is geared toward younger kids like your daughter. You should be able to get more info about this by calling Disney. Maybe the dine line? (714-781-3463) or vacation planning.

BTW, vacation planning can help set up all your dining reservations, or priority seatings as they're called at Disney. So they can probably also help with the birthday celebration thing.

DS "wore" (it was actually pinned above him on the stroller since he was only one) his birthday button the whole week we were there.

No need to worry about it not being her actual birthday! Funny thing, when I went to celebrate my 21st birthday 3 months early the CM at the GCH while I was checking in suggested the pin for me after discussing that t was very far from being my birthday. if you're there to celebrate a birthday it doesn't matter when the birthday actually is. Nobody will ask if it's your actual birthday. You just get lots and lots and lots of birthday wishes!!
