once again I am trying to figure out what to buy mom for her birthday..

Little Background.... shes turning 72..... just had knee sugery... so stuck at home for a while..... doesn't need anything ... fine financially...

In the past we've done pocketbooks ( she loves them)..... perfume ( loves them) and when I want to break up the rut.... a gift certificates... seh is a shop aholic

so the other day she called me since she was bored at home cause of the knee surgury she asked dad to set her up on the internet... shes never been on....
so I just ordered her " Internet for dummies" in Spanish .. since that is her native language...

they are also thinking of taking a trip to Europe when she is back to "normal" ... so I thought of ordering her a guide book.......

any other ideas out there???

How about a couple of gift certificates for pedicures. When I had my knee surgery, I could not paint my toes.

well she's not into having her toes painted... but she loves to get manicures... so thats a good possibilty....

Since she is recovering from surgery, how about some magazines or books she might enjoy reading. Some movies she might enjoy watching on DVD. Some yummy home cooked meals a few nights so she can have a great meal and not have to prepare it.

My mother (74) loves her Amazon kindle. For her birthday this year she got a gift certificate to her hairdresser.
