I have no idea on what to get my youngest DD for her birthday! She turns 9 on the 26th and I haven't got a clue! She's out of the baby doll stage, doesn't really like Barbies, has a bike, isn't really into computer games and if I bring one more stuffed animal into the house, DH liable to divorce me!! Is there any new cool girl thing out there that I'm missing? :Pinkbounc

Does she like to sing? I bought my niece a karaoke machine for Christmas last year when she was 9....this year, I need to check with her mom again, cuz I have no idea. Good luck!

Lego has a new brand of girl things called "click itz" or something like that. They make purses, jewelry, etc. My DD is always wanting them.

Craft projects are also a big thing at that age. Just be prepared for some mess.

Good luck!

My dd turned 9 in May. It is a hard age to buy for!! She got several CD's and clothes from relatives. She loves getting money to spend on her own.
Does she like to do crafts? My dd got a bead weave from WalMart for $10. She really likes it. She also likes the latch hook rug kits. My parents had gotten her a camera for Christmas last year and she scrapbooks with me so paper, stickers, punches and stuff are always a hit.
Does she need a new bike?
Good luck!!

I'm getting my soon-to-be 9 year old nephew a gift certifcate to Blockbusters. He has a PS2, so I figure he can rent DVD's or games with it. Now, my DD will be turning 13 soon...all she wants is $$$!!!

If there is something he really likes (sports, cartoon/Disney character) get her a throw to use when she is curled up watching tv or something

How about Blo-Pens?

My DD bought these for my DS on his 10th b-day and he really enjoys them.

He has Blo-Pen Deluxe Kit. It comes with 15 Blo-Pens (I think) and a huge supply of different cardboard stencils.

He's really made some nice things for me which I hung up at work.

She loves the blow pens! Got them last summer. She has a "special" blanket she got from Santa a couple winters ago. She's not into computer games or video games. This is such a hard year! She gets birthday money from an aunt and already has a day at build a bear planned (there went that idea!! ) It's NOT easy!!

Hmmmmmmmmm how about getting her a day of beauty? Hair & Nails and then take her out for a nice lunch? . . .maybe she'd like that??

How about a day and a shopping trip with you?

She choses where to eat lunch, she gets a certain amount of money she can spend. A certain amount on clothes, or something useful and a certain amount for something fun. Her choice within reason.

Maybe a movie afterwards?

DD asked for an American Girl doll when she was 8 or 9. (She'd tired of the baby dolls & Barbies.) Some of her friends STILL plan days to get together to "play" with them & they're 12 now. They are expensive, but are a good quality.

From the same company, we got her one of the AG Mini rooms. These are also expensive, but she has spent many hours arranging & re-arranging the stuff in that little room! She's made all kinds of little things to decorate it with, too. (There are no dolls to go with the rooms, but DD has found that the Fashion Polly's are close to the right size.)

I know you said she got a "special" blanket she got a couple years ago, but DD just found this idea for a friend. I made her one of those tied fleece blankets & she carries it around all year long. In one of the recent American Girl magazine issues, they showed how to make a pillow the same way. She's made 2 for gifts this summer & can't wait to get matching fleece to make one for herself. They are sooooo soft & soooo easy! Her girlfriends really liked them!
