Birthday for DS 9

We are taking our first trip to WDW in September. My DS will be turning 9 during the trip. Any suggestions for a fun dinner for him or any other ways to celebrate?

You can order him a cake to be delivered to him at one of your table service meals. A character meal is a fun place to have a cake ordered. Also, make sure you stop by Guest Services on his birthday and get him a free Happy Birthday button to wear in the parks.

Birthdays at WDW are great fun, no matter what--that's been our experience--and it's a trip your ds will remember always! Make sure to mention the birthday (and the specific date) to the reservation agent if you're staying on WDW property. There's a chance they'll deliver balloons and a card to your hotel room, although there's also a chance that they won't! What we've experienced on two birthday trips has differed, so I would recommend not expecting any special treatment--that way you can be happily surprised if nice things happen!! Also, when you make restaurant reservations, be sure to mention the birthday. They deliver special (free) birthday cupcakes at many restaurants.

I second the birthday pin idea--they have them at guest services at each of the parks, and they say, "Today's My Birthday!" We got one of these for my dd (who turned 9 on a WDW trip), and she was treated nicely all day by cast members and characters--the barbershop quartet on Main Street even sang "Happy Birthday" to her!

My DS will turn 8 in June and we are celebrating at Disney. We have 8pm dinner reservations at Chef Micky's and we are ordering him a cake to be delivered to the table. Since the reservation is so late we will be able to view Wishes from the viewing area at the Contemperary Resort. I ordered him a gift basket from Memories by Sarah and she is going to put his Birthday Button on it. He is very excited to be having a "Disney Birthday" and feels very special.
