Where is your favorite spot for a birthday dinner? Why is it your favorite? I currently have my birthday dinner at 1900 PF but only because I'm spending the day in MK and was looking for something close by. I won't have the car as my folks are planning on going to Daytona that day and will meet me at dinner. I have a hopper so even going to another park is doable. I rather have character dining so I'm a kid at heart and love interacting with them.

So tell me... where and why for your birthday dinner??

If we were there on my birthday.....it wouldn't need to anything fancy or expensive. I would love Flame Tree, Pecos Bill, Blaze Pizza, Tangerine Cafe, and I can't think of one I'd choose in DHS. If we wanted a sit down restaurant, I'd go with The Grand Floridian Cafe.

If you would like character dining, that's a good choice. You could also consider Chef Mickey's (CR), Storybook (WL), CRT (MK) and Crystal Palace (MK). There are character meals in EP and DHS, but I don't know if it's worth going all the way over to those parks if a character meal closer to MK fits the bill. I'm having my birthday dinner at Cali Grill this year - good food, better view!

If character dining is your thing, I think 1900 PF is great, even my husband liked the interaction with the characters, however, I wouldn't want to eat there for a special meal since the food is ok but nothing special as per disney buffet food. If hitting another park isn't a big deal, maybe Tusker House for better food and characters and I've never done it, but perhaps the Storybook Dining at WL. That looks really nice too.

DD26 (and to a lesser extent, our tween) LOVES character meals so we usually try to book at least one or two each trip. During our August trip, my family went to Storybook with Snow White, Dopey, and Grumpy, and they totally loved it!! Dopey and Grumpy even had DH interacting which is amazing in itself (lol). (I missed out on all the fun since I was ill, but DH is giving me a do-over in January which coincides a few weeks after my BD - so totally looking forward to Storybook to celebrate!)

We also really liked 1900 PF with Cindy and the gang, stepmother and stepsisters were a hoot. Chef Mickey for us has been hit or miss with the character interactions. Food is meh. We didn't really enjoy Akershus as a character meal (dinner, haven't done breakfast). Crystal Palace for breakfast was a lot of fun, great character interaction, so imagine that would be fun for dinner too :).
