Birthday Character Meal?

Hello,

We are going to DLP for the first time in April. My little boy's 5th birthday will happen when we are there. I was wondering if anyone can suggest the best place for a birthday celebration. Has anyone done a Character Meal for a birthday? Is there a possibility to order a cake anywhere?

In addition to Cafe Mickey or Plaza Gardens, there is also the Lucky Nugget Saloon, Tex Mex buffet (lots of choice) in Frontierland, this one is both my sons' favourite restaurant. Inventions restaurant inside the Disneyland Hotel also does character meals, again it's a buffet, although quite bit more expensive. You can order a Birthday Cake though at any of the table service restaurants, it doesn't have to be at a character meal, but they're really good fun.

I had my birthday at Cafe Mickey this week and the cake is lush and i got so much attention when they brought the cake out etc. It was lots of fun, i would deffo recommend it
