Birthday Celebration

Our family will be at WDW in two weeks. Our son-in-laws 30th birthday will be on the Sat before we arrive on Sun. Want to surprise him with a birthday surprise at one of our dinners. Need help deciding which of the restaurants we have ADRs for would be the best choice. There will be 9 of us - ages 50,45,30,25,22,19,13,13,& 5 months.

Have ADRs for
Raglan Road
San Angel Inn

Other suggestions would be appreciated. ADRs are still available at other places, so another place may be an option.

I would not pick San Angel Inn for a celebration. THe restaurant is dark and the tables are closely packed.

Raglan Road is not a Disney-owned restaurant so I don't know what options they offer for celebrations, but you should call them directly and inquire.

Other than that...Perhaps a restaurant at one of the resorts, where the pace is a little more relaxed compared to a restaurant in a park?

Depending on your family's preferred cuisine, you have lots of great choices:
Two great buffets with very different choices --
Boma at AKL
Cape May at BC

OR

Yachtsman Steakhouse at YC

OR

Try to schedule so you can watch the fireworks while you eat at California Grill at the Contemporary.

OR great seafood at --
Flying Fish on the Boardwalk
Narccossee's at the GF

I agree, San Angel Inn is more "intimate" it would be hard to really celebrate a birthday there.
As PP said, it is very dark, the retaurant's mood is set to be dining next to a "river" at dark, so personally I don't think that would work well.

Never been to Raglan Road, so can't comment.

What other ressies do you have if any?

When I celebrated my birthday I loved Brown Derby...but it was just DH and myself.
I would also choose Ohana or Crystal Palace as they are 2 good ones.
