birthday cakes from boardwalk bakery

its dbfs birthday during our trip in may and i was thinking of picking him up a birthday cake from boardwalk bakery as we'll be at epcot the day before his birthday. I was just wondering what kind of cakes they have that can just be picked up on the day (not pre-ordered specialised ones).

My DH bought a cake at BWB on a whim and it was cute looking but v. v. stale. I think it had to have been sitting there for a couple days at least. Also, you run the risk of there not being one available at all. I urge you to order a cake the day before you need it (if you just want a basic cake - you will need more lead time if you want something fancier!).
