We are going next February and my two sisters celebrate their birthdays whilst there. I would like to surprise them with a cake, any suggestions where you can order them?

Depends.

If you want them brought for dessert with your dinner, you can call the restaurant in advance and order the cakes.

If you want them in your hotel, it depends on where you are staying.

More info please for a more complete answer.

We will be staying at the All Star Movies Resort and I would want it at the hotel for when we check in. Do you know if that can be done?

We will be at Disney during my DW's birthday and I would like to get a cake for her as well. We have PS for LeCellier's the night of her birthday, should I get the cake for there or should I get one delivered to our room for after dinner? Can you have a cake delivered to your room? We will be staying at AKL.

Thanks in advance.

I'm not sure that you can get a cake delivered to the All Stars. If you will have a car, you can order one from the BW Bakery and pick it up from them.

I would just have the restaurant bring it for dessert. Call them in advance to make the arrangements.

Oh we'll be there for my birthday on Dec 19th! I wonder how I can get DH to order me a cake without doing it myself LOL. We'll be at the CR but haven't decided where to eat that day yet.

Last year I went to the Dis Wedding and HM site and found a beautiful wedding cake called Roses and Dots. I called The Wilderness Logde and spoke with Cris who I believe is over food and beverage.
I directed her to the site where she could print out a photo so the baker could see exactly how I wanted the cake. I ordered the second layer which I believe was a 10". They decorated the cake like the top layer on the wedding cake. It was really beautiful.

Not only was the cake beautiful, it was DELICIOUS AND THE BUTTERCREAM WAS TO DIE FOR!!!

Since we were having dinner at Whispering Canyon that's where I had it served which was very convenient.

The cake was only $40.00 dollars and well worth it.

This August myself, mom, dd, ds and dd's friend will be there in August so I ordered the same cake. This time the roses are different colors and so is the frosting.
I also had her include the little Disney Character figures but, I'm thinking of having the characters painted on the sides of the cake with the chocolate" (they have to use chocholate to paint the characters)" instead of using the little plastic figures on top.

There are several numbers, I just don't have them handy, I'll ask my DW in the morning what she did with them, just had my DD's birthday in Disney World and we ordered a cake thru one of these numbers.

Will try to get back to you.

There were some delicious looking cakes at the Boarwalk Bakery!

I've never sent a cake, but I have sent cookie bouquets several times. You can see the designs at www.cookiesbydesign.com

They have Disney designs (both Mickey & Friends and Pooh & Friends). They also have many birthday designs. You can personalize the message cookie with your own saying. My DH and DDs have always liked them, not only for the flavor, but also the fact that you can eat them over several days. They don't dry out like a cake would.

Anyway, just another idea. Hope your sisters have great birthdays.

The cakes from the Boardwalk Bakery are very good too. A few years ago I ordered a birthday cake for my MIL. We had planned to walk over and pick it up while dining at B&C. A very nice CM volunteered to walk over and pick it up. The cake was huge and very delicious. One of the best cakes I ever had. We had a chocolate granache frosting and various colors of flowers.

YUM... All this talking about cakes, I'm going to have to find an excuse to order one on our next trip!

BW Bakery is the best for birthday cakes. They made us one for my sone that was in the shape of Mickey!

How exactly do you get gifts/cake/flowers delivered to your room?Does the resort just keep it and put it in your room after you check in? We're going during my friend's b-day and would love to do something like this for him!:earsboy:

Thanks for all your replies, seems as though the Broadwalk bakery has come up as the best but as we will not have a car (not brave enough to drive on the other side of the road) and will be relying on the disney transport, I guess that puts that option out. Hoefully I will be able to sort something out.

February seems sooo far away, can't wait. Two of us have been before but the first time for one of my sister's, think she is in for a surprise :sunny:

Actually it's not the driving on the "other side of the road" that is the issue--it's having the brake and gas switched that seems to be the most difficult obstacle. :)

I still think you should contact Le Cellier in advance and arrange for a cake for her there :)

I know the Boardwalk bakery will deliver cakes. Here is a little story, Tomorrow is my birthday,My daughter in Massachusetts called Boardwalk bakery and had a cake sent to me over at the BWV, I am staying at OKW,after a while she realized that she sent it to the wrong place, I don't know how, but the manager at Olivia's found the cake and it was in our room when we got home from dinner this evening. A little Disney magic????
