Hi,

We will be at SSR for DH's bday end of the month. We are meeting up with some other friends who are traveling the same week and have a grand villa, so, I would like to sneak out and get DH a bday cake so its there when we get back to the room -

So, here's my ? - where is the nearest bakery (I WILL have a car) and the nearest liquor store, bc we cant possibly have cake with out beer....

TIA

For a bakery near SSR, I would go to the Publix over by the Premium Outlets. The address is:
Regency Village Shopping Center
8145 Vineland Ave
Orlando, FL 32821-6847
Main: (407) 238-9924
Fax: (407) 238-4650

PalaMurf I don't know if you considered having the cake and beer delivered. Many places deliver for a minimal fee and bell services will hold the cake and beer until you call. They will then bring it to your your. If you drive off site you lose alot of time. How much is your time worth????

Go to the Publix by the Premium Outlet Mall. They have some wonderful cakes at the bakery there. You can check their website (maybe www.publix.com??) and see what they have to offer.

Mmmmmm, birthday cake and beer. That's my kind of party:thumbsup2 .

I agree, Publix stores seem to have the best bakeries in the area.

Couldn't you order a cake from Artist's Palette and have it sent to the room?

You wouldn't need a liquor store.:confused3 You can buy beer at the grocery store. You should be able to do it all at once.

Beer is now being sold in the resort stores by single units. For about 5 bucks a pop. So I guess it depends on the size of the party and how deep your pockets are. I'd make a run to a grocery store (and get the cake, too) or have it delivered. Ditto on the Publix cakes - they're very good.

I've never eaten cake with beer. But the mental image is interesting.

which goes MUCH better with cake then beer IMHO!

We have a large group, so I am thinking that beer by the case is a much better option then the singles at the resort.

I checked out the publix website and the cakes look great - so I think I will go that route.

I am also going to call to see what they charge for cakes from Artist Pallette, I did not even think of that really - there will be about 15 or so people - so I was going to go out for snacks and such earlier that day while DH is otherwise occupied with his friends.

Thanks everyone for the input it helps so much.

SO, I guess now, really, I do just need to know if there is a liquor store near that Publix on Vineland...

:thumbsup2
