I saw pictures of the birthday, anniversay, "1st trip", etc. buttons on another thread. They're SO cute! How much are these buttons or are these given out free? If they're free (woohoo:banana: ) are we limited to one per person? We're celebrating birthdays AND it's the first trip for my kids and DH. Would my kids be able to get both a birthday button AND a 1st trip button? These are so FUN!!!:cheer2:

all you have to do is ask for them at check in. They will give you how many you need. they are free. have fun

We got the first trip button for DS and our friend who was with us at guest services at MK (we stayed offsite). They didn't even ask questions, just gave us the buttons we asked for. I am sure you can get them at any property

Have fun!

My girls got their 1st trip button and loved it.

Also got a birthday button. All you have to do is ask for them.

Have a great trip!

We just got back from a surprise birthday trip for my DD8 and it was also my DH's birthday, so they both got pins. I was thrilled with all of the attention they got just by having the pins on. They were greeted by name by what seemed like EVERY cast member we passed! Several cast members pulled my DD off to the side to receive a special birthday phone call from Goofy! It was awesome, and I want to go back on my birthday...LOL!

Have a great time! My dd had a ball last year. You can get the button at check-in if you are staying on Disney property or get them in any of the parks. As you can see from my siggy, my dd also receive balloons and a card from Ariel! It was waiting in our room one afternoon. She was thrilled! She wore that button the whole time we were there. :rotfl:

that is SO awesome! how does that work, do I just inform them when I check in that DD birthday is the 21st and we're celebrating DS birthday on Thursday and they'll remember and take it from there? Boy they really do takes steps to make it magical don't they?pixiedust:

That's so awsome!!! So if my girls (AND DH, actually) have on their 1st trip buttons, does anything special occur as they have these on in the parks? The girls will be tickled pink!

And how about Anniversary and Bday? We're celebrating BOTH while we're there! Will anyone leave a card for us in our rooms automatically or do we need to specifically ASK the front desk for a card??? MY DD would FLIP to get a card from ANY of the disney characters!

There's no guarantee that a card/balloons will be left for a birthday or other special celebration. However, if it's noted on your reservation or if you ask for a birthday button at the front desk, they may take notice and leave a special surprise for you. In my experience, they'll ask who your favorite character is and try to have the card be from that character.

However, there have been times when they noted it but didn't drop anything off. Also, some hotels don't do balloons-- like AKL/AKV because of the animals.

So just don't expect anything and you could be pleasantly surprised. :)

Oh, not only do they have birthday, anniversary, and 1st time visitor buttons, but they also have a honorary citizen (or something like that, no characters on it) and a Princess button too. I think there's a more "boy" themed button, but I don't recall the character(s) on it. You can ask for the Princess button, but I don't know if you can ask for the honorary citizen one.

Yes, just let them know at check-in that you are celebrating a birthday(s) and would like a button(s). When I did this, the lady who took care of me asked me what was my dd's favorite character. The following day we returned back to our room to find this surprise! As the PP stated, nothing is guaranteed. Sometimes, it just doesn't happen. What I also did was when making ressies for any restaurant (Chef Mickeys, Akershus, Crystal palace, etc) I let them know we were celebrating a birthday. Depending on the restaurant, you may receive a souvenir placemat, a special cupcake, etc. It made it so special for her. Oh, and of course, she had a lot of "Happy Birthday Princess" said to her that week! :lovestruc
