Has anyone done this? I made ressies to celebrate my Little Monkey's 4th birthday here. I would love to here stories and see pictures if anyone has them.

If you're talking about the Pat E Cake Birthday Party......I'd use my money to do something else. We did this for our 8yr olds birthday & him & our 4yr old daughter didn't enjoy this. The host does a song or two, not necessarily getting anywhere close to where you're sitting, you decorate a dry cake with vibrantly colored frosting (that stains the skin as well as clothes), Mickey & Minnie come out for a quick song, a conga line & then for photopass pics. They will not sign autographs!!

For the price that you pay for this party, you could go to a character meal, where you'll get a full meal & tons of character interaction (and autographs if you want them)

Some people really liked this party, but we were very disappointed in it. The host never got anywhere near our table, the kids wanted to see Mickey, but were rushed thru to get everyone thru the photo line. My daughter spent the rest of the trip with a red eyebrow & we ended up with a vibrant blue stain on a tshirt.

Thanks for the info!! I had thought about doing it, but you definitley helped me decide not to! Especially since i have a 2 and 3 year old. I can't imagine the mess that would be!! :rotfl2:

Okay then, we'll go back to the original plan of Minnie's breakfast (done it before and we liked it) and decorate cookies at the Raindeer Roundup.

I have a totally different opinion of the party. We took my son for his 3rd birthday along with his 6 month old brother. My son LOVED it. My little guy turns 1 this month and my older son asked if we could have his birthday party with Mickey and Minnie instead of with family.

I thought Pat E Cake was awesome. There were about 15-20 tables and from what I saw he spent a little time with each table. He was very animated and funny. There was definitely a little tongue and cheek adult humor that the kids didn't get which I liked.

I didn't find the cake to be dry and while the frosting and toppings were bright they didn't stain my kids skin or clothes. I used a "whipey" from my diaper bag and it came off easily. My son thought that was the coolest thing that he decorated his own cake. My husband took it very seriously and had a perfect Mickey.

You get a souvenir plastic cup w/ lid (similar to what you would get at Applebee's, paper Mickey ears, lemonade and the personal cake.

Mickey and Minnie come out, do the conga line, and then spend a few minutes with each child individually. Enough time for autographs and pictures. About as long as you would get if you waited in line to meet with them at their houses.

There was a photopass photographer at the party. He told us to set our card on the table and he took pictures of us at our table, our cakes, my son w/ Mickey and Minnie and some others. I think about 25 pictures from the party.

I don't think you can beat the price - $15.99. I think that a character breakfast is at least $32.

We did a character breakfast w/ Minnie and Friends in addition to the birthday party. The breakfast was also very nice and we did see a lot more characters but it was double the price and it wasn't special for the birthday boy. There was nothing that called any attention to him or provided individual attention. Because my kids love the characters it's safe to say that we would do a character meal every time we went to the park.

I think this is one of those things where you will probably find people who love it and people who hate it. It's totally a matter of personal opinion. But I think it's safe to say that I felt it was worth the money, a great experience and something I would do again with my family.

I'm with DizNee Luver...our family didn't enjoy the experience...sorry. :(

We celebrated my son's 6th birthday there and found the Pat-E-Cake character to be a bit obnoxious. Like another poster said, it's a matter of personal opinion as to whether one will enjoy the activity and the entertainment. I do think the activity is geared more toward toddlers and preschoolers, so your son might enjoy it, but our kids, my DH, and I weren't impressed, unfortunately.

The cake they gave was a small mickey-shaped yellow cake (ours were a bit dry IMHO) accompanied with a side of some frosting and Disney-themed sprinkles. While our kids enjoyed the cake decorating, they didn't take to Pat-E-Cake. They said that he talked too much. During the event, all my DH and I could think about was that we should have used the amount we paid to have a nice sit down lunch/dinner (with a birthday dessert for my son at the end) elsewhere in the resort, LOL! Instead, we got an hour or so of sitting through constant banter by the host and limited interaction with characters.

What about celebrating at Goofy's Kitchen. That's what were doing for our twins 6th birthday in January. We will have a full service meal and the kids will enjoy a personal size party cake and a Disney Princess Jewelry Box or Disny Pirate Treasure Chest each. I think it's an additional $15 each child.
