I'm thinking of taking my Mum to Disneyland Paris for her 50th Birthday.

I was wondering , Do they have similar birthday / I'm celebrating buttons like Florida have?

Is there the same amount of attention to the badge wearer ? And Is there a chance of any birthday pixie dust?

It's not until 2016 but it would take a bit of planning , as I would be leaving my disabled hubby at home and just be Mum and I .

No badge any more but you do get a sticker from City Hall. Lucas also got a phone call from Mickey when he got his sticker, not sure if that's just for kids though. Have to say, that even with his birthday sticker and a couple of 4th birthday badges on his top, not much was made of his birthday throughout the day.

If you went for dinner in somewhere like Cafe Mickey you could order a birthday cake and have that brought out to your table by singing Cast Members and Disney characters.

Hope you have fun booking the trip - by then Ratatouille will be open and some more unannounced attractions too. I'd be shocked if by 2016 the much rumoured Star Wars Land in Disoveryland isn't open.

Neither of my daughters had the phone call from Mickey but I saw one boy who did last week.

I agree with Steve they don't get any extra fuss wearing the birthday sticker. I found it pointless but depending on your childs age it might make them feel special.

I think it just all depends on which CM's you come across.

For my daughters birthday we got the birthday sticker and phone call from Mickey and they really made a fuss of her at City Hall (and it was busy it was Easter). She was also wearing the birthday badges we had bought. Throughout the day she had a lot of fuss and interaction from CM's and characters, she absolutely loved it all.

Good to know as I will bring DS pin from last year for this trip. These are the little things that I feel make WDW have the magic over DLP. I love the buildings and attention to detail at DLP, but the CM's at WDW do make magic for the guests.

I took my parents to DLP for my Dad's 55th birthday and all the Cast Members and characters made an incredible fuss over him?!

Even when we came across face characters Princes and Princesses the day after his birthday who we'd seen before - they remembered my dad and asked if he had a magical birthday and really made us feel special.

I celebrated my birthday in DLP last year (and am doing so again this year) and the interaction from the characters when they saw my birthday badge (I'm a big kid) was incredible.

I guess it does depend on the Cast Member - but I've never experienced anything less than pure Disney magic when celebrating birthdays in DLP.

Your mum will have an absolutely magical birthday and well done you for taking her!

I celebrated my 50th birthday at DLP and it was fantastic. My DDs made me wear a badge with 50 on and I had lots of Bon Anniversaires and even a couple of kisses from CMs throughout the day. I had my birthday meal in Inventions that night and actually chose not to wear the badge in there as by then I'd had enough of people noticing it! :rotfl:

Hope your mum has as wonderful a birthday as I did. :cloud9:
