I don't know if they give birthday badges out at City Hall - it has never been a given at DLP, as it is at WDW, I think. They did start something this year called a Touch of Magic - so someone celebrating a birthday should now get a treat such as a badge or balloon, which I think you get at your hotel. I assume that is still the case.
Do you have to report the birthday to the hotel or whatever to get the treat? And has anyone ever gotten a birthday cake at DLP? It says they have to be reserved, I guess then you have to make dinner reservations somewhere and then order it?

Sometimes, when reporting a birthday at the reception upon arrival, they give you a VIP room if you're lucky.
Yes, it's best to order your birthday cake when making reservations. I've never liked the cake much (did it about 3 times so far), but they play a funny song and people clap their hands. Several cast members come your way, clap their hands and stay until the song is over.

I thought that at reception of your hotel or city hall you would get a birthday badge if they know about your celebration.
They aren't really necessary to do before you go, unless you really want to eat at a certain place, on a certain day, at a certain time!! Otherwise people report that they just make reservations on the day.
So if that is the case, can the cake be ordered then, or does it have to be ordered a few days in advance?
