My daughter will be turning 1 when we go to WDW in December. What kind of special things can I do for her, is there anyway I can let castmembers know or anything like that?

Go to guest services at the parks or at your resort if you are staying on property and get DD a "It's My Birthday" pin. Most CM's pick those out of a crowd. Of course, wearing the pin for a 1-year-old may not be a great thing if your DD is the inquisitive type (or heaven forbid she plays with it and it comes undone and pokes her). Maybe you could make a birthday t-shirt for her to wear to the parks-that may be a better idea. If you have any ADR, make sure to tell them you are celebrating a birthday. ;)

We were there last year when my son turned 3....we mentioned it to cast members and he got a pin that said it was his birthday....so we attached it to his hat (he had the baseball hat with the ears).....during the parades and passing all cast members and characters, they said happy birthday to him and the characters pointed to the pin. If you're doing a TS meal (especially character ones) mention it and they will sing....we were at Donalds Breakfast (his favorite character) and they all danced around him while everyone sang.
