I am working on plans to take my son to WDW for his birthday. I really wanted to take him on his birthday but with all the relatives traveling to see him we won't be able to get away until 2 weeks after his actual birth date. Would it be okay if we celebrated it while at Disney two weeks after the fact? Or is that a no-no?
He's going to be two and I'd really like to make it special for him.
Thoughts?

That's totally up to you, not like anyone will ask for a birth certificate or proof. I personally would'nt do it 2 weeks later, I could see maybe a few days later. I have 2 girls that will be 2 and 3 weeks post birthday during our trip, and we will not be celebrating there bday while at Disney, actually that thought never crossed our minds. Disney is a special place for everyone, I'm sure he will have a great time either way. Have fun :)

My brother and his family went a month before their middle daughters birthday and they celebrated her birthday there. They got a cake at their hotel (on-site) too. If the trip is to celebrate I don't think you need to get real technical, because it is a "birthday trip" and is within a month of your travel date. JMO :)

CELEBRATE!!! :cheer2: We celebrated by DD's 3rd birthday a week later b/c of my DB's Wedding and she wore the Birthday button from MK all week long. She didn't get any mega attention but the little bit she got (An autographed placemat from Chef Mickey's, a card from CM's at Epcot, and countless birthday greetings) was great! As previous poster said, if you are going to celebrate something then you don't have to be too technical!!

With a 2yo I would sure! Keep in mind they don't do much, if you really want to pick a meal or a day then you would want to plan some things yourself. You could do a character meal and order a cake or have something sent to the room.

If he will wear one then get the birthday button, he will get some Happy Birthdays and such so if he is the type of 2yo that likes that go for it. Otherwise it may be to much attention from strangers - my kids wouldn't like it a t 2.

For older kids - keep in mind that the button says "Today Is My Birthday" so my girls would not wear it on anyday other than the actual birthday.

Thank you for your opinions...I wanted to hear both side of it.
I think I'm only going to do a cake at a restaurant one night and decorate the room.
Terrible twos here we come! LOL!

We're actually celebrating my daughter's 3rd birthday 2 months early at WDW! (A summer trip to WDW just won't work for us.) I've gone back and forth about do we put the birthday button on her or not. But, I've decided to do it because that will be when we CELEBRATE her birthday, even though not the actual day.

We took DS there for his 3rd b-day 3 years ago. That trip we were lucky enough to be there on the actual day. He just had a blast! I want DD to feel special one day too (well, hopefully she feels special everyday, but you know what I mean)! We're going to just pick one day to "celebrate". It will be weird singing "Happy Birthday" to her in the castle though!

If anyone would happen to ask, I would certainly tell them when her actual birthday was though.
