I am going to be at disney and staying at the pofq, my cousin will be 8 years old on arrival date, does disney do anything spacial for kids on there birthday.

I know that any restaurant that you go to they will come to your table and sing Happy Birthday to the child and give them cake with a candle to blow out. Just make sure you tell them when you make a ressie or when you arrive at the restaurant that there is a birthday.

You should know...

There are no guarantees that Disney will do anything for a birthday. Many people have posted about receiving nothing special-not a cupcake, card, etc.

If you want to guarantee that something will be done then you should arrange something through the hotel-like a cake or special meal. I often purchase tuxedo strawberries for my DH's birthday or other special occasions.

It's quite possible you can note the birthday on your PS then show up and not receive anything.

Just wanted you to know. :D

As the other psoter said sometimes they do and sometimes they don't. We went to WL in 2003 for DS 10th bday. We told them and it was marked on our confirmation. We got not even so much as a towel animal. The people next to us got a balloon and stuffed animal brought to their room-I happened to be in the hall as it arrived. When I inquired with our neighbors, later in our trip, if they had ordered them from somewhere, they told us no that the hotel had done it as a surprise! Restaurants at Disney on the other hand were great! DS got spoiled rotten for 3 meals that day, lol!

From what I have read about this, it is hit or miss. We were at the VWL for my DS 9th birthday in 2002. They sent up a delicious chocolate birthday cake with his name on it (and he LOVES chocolate). There was also a birthday photo card of Mickey signed. We arranged none of this ourselves. He wanted to do his birthday dinner at LeCellier (he plays and loves hockey, so Canada it was), and they gave him a birthday cake on the house there too.

Make sure you get your son an "It's my birthday" button at the park you go to that day. I know for sure they have them at Town Hall at the MK, and guest services at EPCOT. You get a lot of attention from the CMs when you wear them at the parks.

I am so looking forward to celebrating my 50th Birthday at Disney in May. My kids and son-in-law are coming as well (of course) as kmy husband. We are really looking forward to it. I hope they can come up with some surprises for me. I have emailed my family everything I could find so they can plan. I'm the biggest kid of the bunch and have always loved Disney. So thats what I told them how I would like to spend my birthday...with them in Disney! Can't wait!!!

My son had his 7th birthday last summer when we were in Disney. We got him a button at Magic Kingdom. The mayor sang happy birthday to him and got the crowd to sing along with him. For the afternoon parade. The CM's brought him out in front before the parade started and entire crowd sang to him. Then durring the parade the charaters came up to him gave him pins and things. The best part was Belle up in her "globe" waved and said happy birthday and blew him a kiss. When ever he talks about our trip he refers to the parade as "My Birthday Parade." Be sure to tell any of the CM's that it is his birthday. They will be sure to make a big deal about it.

Schell, welcome to the Dis. I love the PO-FQ resort, so I hope you have a wonderful time staying there.

Q. Is there anything special I can plan for a birthday or special occasion?

A. A variety of activities is available at the Walt Disney World Resort to help make birthdays more special and memorable. For instance, your family may wish to dine with the Disney Characters at one of many character breakfasts, lunches, or dinners. Call (407) WDW-DINE (939-3463)† to find out more about how to create a memorable celebration for your birthday or special occasion.

Any time my family is planning something special (birthday, anniversary, etc.), we have planned it ourselves with Disney's help. That way we were in control and knew that the event was going to happen.

Disney has many wonderful ways to celebrate special events, some are very reasonable in price and others are pricier. I celebrated my wedding anniversary at WDW last Fall with a private dinner on the set of the "Haunted Mansion" movie -- it was beyond incredible. So, place a phone call to Disney and see what they have to offer. And have a wonderful time (and a memorable birthday for your cousin).
