Birthday / Anniversary perks?

We are celebrating our anniversary this weekend at WDW. We were given Happily Ever After buttons at checkin, and have recieved many well wishes and congrats from cast members and guests.

Earlier today at Epcot a cast member greeted us and asked if we had been to Club Cool yet for our free anniversary ICEEs. We went and were both given our choice of Icee flavors. There was a young lady there getting one for her birthday as well.

It made me wonder, are there other perks like this for those celebrating at Disney?

As far as I know any "pixie dust" is at the discretion of a CM -- enjoy your Icee and Happy Anniversary! :)

Thanks. That is what I thought too. It seems the free Icee is always offered at Club Coo for celebrations. It was a cast member outside there that suggested it to us.

That's just about it, loads of congratulations and smiles. I have, on occasion, gotten a free dessert when wearing my birthday button but not very often and since I don't eat dessert, not much of a perk for me.

I have gone 3 times for my Bday and most of the time it is just an Happy birthday, a few FP for rides ( I go a lot so some CM know me and know I like to loop rides ) I got a free Ice once but one time and this was a really big pixie dust moment because I almost had to go home but I was moved from all start sports to AKL Savana view, Talk about Pixie dust moment

We booked through a travel agent for our 5th anniversary trip to Disney ages ago...I'm guessing she put something into our file, but somehow, CMs at our resort and places we had ADRs knew. So the tables at all of our sit down dinners were covered in confetti, and we got a cupcake for dessert every time. Our room was upgraded and Mousekeeping left little gifts each evening--chocolates, balloons, a card, etc. We'd never been made to feel so special on a vacation, so it was a nice surprise.

We've been there for a few birthdays and once for our anniversary.
One trip my dd received a signed picture/card of Mickey and I think a balloon. Same trip they let us golf for free at Fantasia Gardens. The CM said it was for her birthday.

Last year we came back to the room to find a magnet photo frame with Minnie and Mickey kissing. Attached was a "Happy Anniversary" card addressed to myself and MY SON! Lol...but hey, they tried :)

Almost every restaurant has given my kids a free dessert since they always wear their bday buttons the entire trip. We only wore our Anniversay pins on the actual day. We don't ever expect anything, but we know it's entirely possible to have some extra pixie dust too.

I've always looked at ANYTHING (big OR small) that happens over and above a "congrats" (or whatever the appropriate acknowledgement would be for whatever your occasion or button is for) is EXTRA, and should be appreciated graciously, NEVER expected.

Even as a guest, I try to acknowledge others around me with buttons, or wearing the "married" bride or groom hats, etc.

By the way - healthy and happy anniversary, and many more magical years together!

We went for my daughter's 10th last week. She was decked out with a custom shirt and had a headband that looked like a birthday cake and said "happy birthday". She received lots of well wishes at MK (and at the airport and over the intercom on our flight...). We bought cupcakes at Big Top and they gave us a free candy apple, I assume because of her birthday. That was about it.

A manager handed us some free cotton candy while waiting with the throngs for the final Wishes to start. I assume that was not birthday related.

The next day, after seeing the birthday button, A lovely CM at AK tried to get us a time slot for the AP Pandora preview but was denied. It was a good try!

We've celebrated both birthdays and anniversaries at Disney World several times. When they were doing the "year of wishes" or whatever several years ago now, my husband and I were on an adults-only trip and were wearing our buttons. As we walked into the American Adventure, the CM asked us where we were from and we told him, and he said, "oh, we've been looking for an anniversary couple from there all day - what's your last name?" and we told him. He directed us to a hidden phone and told us we needed to dial a particular number, and when we did, it was an anniversary wish from Mickey & Minnie. After we listened, he gave us a Magical Moment certificate and escorted us to the "colonial elevator" to go up to the rotunda to listen to the Voices of Liberty. Then we were allowed into the theater first. When we celebrated my 40th birthday there, I got a dessert at least once, an extra piece of fudge at Main Street Confectionary, and lots of good wishes. On his birthday trip, my older son was given cupcakes at a couple of different places. We've gotten a couple of the signed pictures in our room, but never any balloons or anything extra special like room upgrades. I always figure anything is just pixie dust. :)
