Birthday admission question

I am going to be at the parks on my birthday, but I don't need admission. What can I get with the perks card in lieu of admission--all I know is that you can't buy food with it. Is the fast pass offer the better choice?

I got the birthday gift gard in lieu of the admission, it was a gift card for about $79 and you can use it in almost every souvenier shop in WDW. I bought some clothes in the Emporium on Main street and stuffed animals and stuff for my dd in another shop.

We've got the same deal going....I've already paid for admission, and my DD#1 will be having a birthday while we're there.

I was informed she'd get a Disney GC the morning of her Bday to use anywhere in the park before midnight that day. Needless to say, we're going to shop for souviners that day!

The gift card does not have to be used all in one day and does not expire. We used DS gift card throughout the week and I still have mine.

Really? That isn't what the information I read led me to believe at all. Verrrry interesting! We will be getting 4 gift cards this trip and it would make life much easier if we didn't have to stop our first full day in the parks for shopping and could do it later...if I can persuade the kids to wait!

I asked as I knew I could not spend mine as we were leaving on the cruise the day of my birthday. I went to the park in the morning and picked it up at guest services, never even entered a park. DS got his on a Wednesday and we used it Thursday and Friday. He had no problem spending all his money!
