Birth control and pregnancy

I got off the pill in March 03, got pregnant in April 03, had a miscarriage almost immediately (sp?), got pregnant again in June 03, had a miscarriage in August 03, got pregnant again in September 03 and FINALLY had DD in June 04. I was 20.

After my DS5 was born I went on Depo for 3 yrs and loved it. I got off it in July 2005 and practiced other natural forms of b/c because I was not that concerned if I got pregnant. Since Nov '06 I've been ttc and have started tracking my menstrual cycle. I'm currently 34 days late, but the home pregnancy test I took yesterday was negative. I've never tracked my cycle until I started ttc, so I don't know if it's normal to be this late. Has anyone else had this happen? My cycles are generally 24-30 days.

ETA: I forgot to mention that ever since I got off Depo, my reproductive system has been all messed up and I actually have alot of PMS symptoms that I never used to get. I liked it for me, but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

I was off the pill for about 6 months before I got pregnant with my DD. I was 28 at the time.

OMG! Depo was a nightmare for me! I actually menstruated every single freakin' day for 3 months straight. As soon as I thought it was over, I'd sneeze and here we go again. My GYN told me it was normal for stuff like that to happen :headache: . NO WAY!...lol never again.

Thinking about it. We are going on a cruise in June and are thinking of starting to try following that. I have to be able to indulge in my pina colada on the boat!

Seasonale was like that for me. It was fine for a year, but the next year I had my period almost everyday, light sometimes, killer others. For a drug thats supposed to give you one cycle every 90 days it did not work for me! I'm on Yasmin right now and it has been a breeze so far.

This is why I didn't start trying until Nov when I took my cruise and those Konk Coolers were worth the wait:lmao: I was hoping for a souvenir to bring back, but we were just way too exhausted every night. Maybe it will happen on a 7 day.:rotfl:

hi Denise:wave2: I totally get what you are saying because I would love to just get preg but that would be while I'm still on the pill:rolleyes1 at some points I'm thinking its going to take immaculate conception considering the amount of time Matt is home:rotfl: Anyways, I don't have anything to add about getting preg yet because I can't give up my security blanket otherwise known as the bc pill but I have started to read a wonderful book about just knowing your body and cycles. It's called Taking Charge of Your Fertility by Toni Weschler. There is some very in depth chapters you could skip but I needed to know the basics like how to count days and signs that my body is ovulating. I hope things work out the way you want quickly and feel free to PM me anytime if you'd like. Good luck:)

We waited 6 months before TTC DD after stopping BCP. It took us one month. I didn't even believe I was pregnant. I was 25. We never went back on BCP but I was nursing for 18 months. We've been TTC on and off since then (about 6 months) but nothing yet. Trying really hard not to plan our family around Disney trips!:rotfl:

Actually you will find a good poriton of us there are now under that mind set. Some have tracked temps to bring to doctors as well (they have been trying long enough w/o anything to show) since docs want that before moving forward. Others do it just to help and some (like me) don't do it at all now. Though I might just because after my miscarriage I havene't been quite as regular. Just something to bring to my doc for my anual this summer (to make sure nothing is wrong).
Just to clarify, I am NOT trying to get pregnant now! I have two DS's, one is a Senior and one is a Freshman in High School. We are going to my oldest's probable college tomorrow for Major Exploration (or something). No babies please :scared: !

BTW, anyone trying to concieve, that last line is not meant to any of you, I'm just on the other side now.

I was on BCPs for a long time so I went off 6 months to clear my system and after that it took 9 months to get preggo with my 1st. (I was 27 when I got preggo) After that we didn't used BCPs since we wanted them close and didn't want to go thought that again. (We got preggo right away 3 other times. :rotfl: )

Oh, bad birth control for me was that stupid patch. I had a cycle for three months straight, right through my wedding and honeymoon. I was not a happy camper ;)

THANKS TINA!! :flower3: I like you a lot...you've always got some wonderful things to say. I'll keep you posted on my progress.

I went off the pill in October and we are in the not not trying to conceive phase. LOL so in otherwords we aren't using other methods to prevent it. My doctor did tell me we didn't have to wait at all and could start trying right away if we wanted. So far nothing but my cycle is just now getting pretty regular so we'll see. I'll be 32 in March and our original plan was to really start in April so I went off hoping to be close to regular by then.
