I read most of the thread on what all I need for online check in. My friend who is sailing with me doesn’t have a passport. To do the online check in I know I need a headshot of her. I assume I also need a picture of her birth certificate? Do I need a picture of her driver’s license?

Just birth certificate and picture of her. Won’t hurt to have her license so you have address and dob etc.

You need to upload document that establishes citizenship.

You will need driver's license or picture of. I just checked in my daughter for our cruise later this month. First time she has cruised without a passport. She let it expire and didn't have time to renew..

Your reservation will tell you the specific documents you will need for your cruise. If you are not using a passport then you must have a original or copy of their state-issued birth certificate AND Government-issued photo ID (wording taken straight from the DCL website).

So yes, if you don't have a passport then you'll need the birth certificate and driver's license (plus the headshot).

My friend took a picture of her birth certificate and sent it to me and I (my husband actually- I am technologically challenged) turned it into a jpeg. Will that work or do I need to have a scan of it?

Depends on how good the picture is
