My son is 4 and he really likes the book. DH reads to him from it and they look at the pictures together. It's nice because they have little clip-arts that tell you if the ride is dark, scary, or loud so it prepares the kids in advance what to expect. DS has already decided what rides he wants to go on after reading this book.
Where can I get this book? My ten year old will love it. I will too. Plus will help us decide what rides my three year old can ride without being scared.
You can get it at any bookstore or Amazon. I think we got ours at Borders. We waited until they had a 25% off for teachers discount or sometimes on the back of your receipt there will be 30% off your next purchase. But it was only around $10.
You can also try your local library. I know ours has the adult version, I might see if they have the kid one, it never occured to me to read it with my 5 yr old, he'd probably love it!

We have the 2002 version, and the 2004 version at the library were basically the same. You're better off borrowing it to check it out, even if it's a later edition. We bought the 2002 version when it was more than half off at the end of the year. I don't think it was worth full price.
My DD5 does keep it in her room and flip through it. There's not a lot of photos. They could have put one per ride. But, there are the park maps which keeps her entertained. And, there are activity suggestions for older kids as well.
All in all, I think it's a good little book/souvenir for younger kids if you can find it for under $10. Not much substance. If you have an older child looking for a "guide" book, I would stick which the original Birnbaum book. My children love me to read the ride descriptions from that one -- way more information.
DD4 loves her birnbaum kids guide, it was great for the airplane ride she planned out our whole may trip flipping through this book, and it kept her busy on the ride down, on the way back she looked at everything and talked about what we did.
I have it and my 9 and 7 year old love looking at it and tellikng me what they want to ride and not ride. The pictures are great. I think a 4 year old will like it. I got mine at Barnes and Noble.
