Got my book 09/21/04 at B Daltons. The book is great. The part I like is there is a detailed section on all the excursions at each port. We are going onthe repositioning cruise, so I wanted to get an idear about excursions offered at different places. I think the book gives you alot of info.

Glad to hear a good review. I just ordered mine through Amazon. I love the Passporter but it will be fun to read something new and compare info. Isn't Birnbaum the "official" Disney book? Will be interesting to see what kind of spin they put on things.

We just got ours and it is good info. I think they do a good job oftrying to be honest and not sugar coating things. For example in a couple of places they mention to bring incidental stuff with you as it is much more expensive on board.

yeah, I ordred it too and I also have Passporter hope
it is just as fun to read

I finished mine last night and, while I won't go so far as to say it was a complete waste of money, I didn't enjoy it as much as I had hoped. I have passporter and think it does a much better job of giving detailed info. Birnbaum's has no deck plans, etc. This book was sort of like the planning DVD put on paper. A quick overview of information, not much detail, and pretty pictures. I think the book would be a good place for first time cruisers to start, but I wouldn't recommend it for those looking for deeper information. Get the passporter for that.

I just ordered it from overstock.com for $7.99 plus $1.40 shipping. Couldn't beat that price.

Thanks,

Reneé

Having been on several DCL cruises, I didn't learn all that much. However, I found the section on excursions well worth my time and money. I especially liked the fact that it gave not just the pros, but also the cons of many excursions: not enough bang for the buck, boring for children, too long, etc. I'll be using it the book to help me pick my shore excursions for the Western.

I too was disappointed in this book. It was no where near as good as the Passporter or the info on the some of the web pages.

I bought it because I lent my passporter to somone and I wanted another resource without rebuying the same book... I want my Passporter back! :Pinkbounc

I bought mine yesterday and was disappointed. The pictures are all the same as the ones in DCL's books you can pick up at a Travel Agent...and the info no better (if even close) than Passporter.

The Passporter is definately more info, but I really like the print and easy read of this other one. I like the way the excursions were also layed out. If I had to choose, it would be the Passporter I would go with.
