Hi guys :goodvibes

Me and my b/f are going to see Rammstein play at the LG Arena in Birmingham next week. Now for some reason I have left everything to the last minute, not that I ever do that.... :rolleyes1

But we will be getting the coach from Notts to Birmingham it say's that it takes us to the new coach station at Mill Lane, Digbeth.... is that near the city centre or miles away?? Also does anyone know if the LG Arena is miles away from the city centre or a reasonable taxi fare away?
Plus if anyone knows of any reasonable price hotels that would be appreciated too? :)

The b/f currently thinks this is all being sorted and I know what I am doing.....
I blame him for leaving it to me to sort out ;)

Hi,

The coach station is a short walk from the city centre, or there are a number of buses that go past into the centre.

The LG Arena is the new name for the NEC Arena, and it is nowhere near Birmingham city centre I'm afraid. You can easily get a train from New Street Station, which is in the centre of Birmingham town, and easy to get to, to Birmingham International Station, which is at the front of the LG Arena complex. It should only cost a couple of quid each return. It will cost a lot for a taxi, as it is actually closer to Solihull than Birmingham city centre.

You will need to check the train times as the last train back can be really close to the end time for the gig, and it is a good 10 or 15 minute walk from the actual arena to the train station platform. The platform will also be really full, so you need to be careful that you can get on the train that you need, or it may go due to being full before you can get on.

As the International Station is also the Birmingham Airport station you could stay at one of the Airport hotels, but it won't be cheap. There isn't really anything else in the way of hotels near the Arena if you don't have a car. Have a look at the Birmingham visitors website, it will give you links to hotels in the city centre. Sorry I can't be more use for the hotel side, but I live near enough that I have never needed one.

Have a great time, my best friend is very jealous that she hasn't got tickets for that show.

We saw Placebo at the LG Arena in Decemeber, its right by birmingham Airport and if you dont mind getting what you pay for, book the Etap, its £35 per room per night, and 5 mins walk from the LG Arena. Its brand new, lovely and clean but very basic, but if your only looking for somewhere to rest your head its great.:thumbsup2

Have a great time:goodvibes

Thank you sooo much! As you can tell I know nothing about Birmingham!!! I am going to look at the train times now..

I hope that the gig is good after all this :lmao:
