For htose of you who have done ressies at BBB around lunch or mid-day - do you take your daughters' dress in stroller and have her change at the appt or do your kids wear their dresses around the park all day? The reason I ask is one of our daughter's dresses is quite large and would seem a hassel to wear on rides.

Also - if you bring your own dress - do they put the dress on before showing up for the appt - or do they prefer to leave them off and put it on after makeup?

I let me dd choose if she wants to wear her dress all day, in Sept it was too hot for her so she wore a princess sundress I made for her, it was much more comfy for her. If you bring your own dress you put it on before the appt. After you check in at the podium you can go to the fancy changing room and put the dress on in there. There is no break in the appt for them to stop for you to change her.

My DD always wears her dresses all day. That being said, we do cotton custom gowns that are lot more comfy than the gowns Disney sells. I've seen plenty of princesses having meltdowns about the hot scratchy dresses. My advice is to bring a change of clothes just in case. You should have the dress on before the appointment (you can change at BBB). That way they are in full princess gear for the big reveal at the end.

We will carry our daughters dress and she will wear it for her appointment and pictures. Afterwards, she'll change into a custom comfy dress and use the restroom at Norway to change back into it later in the day for her princess dining experience. It just seems too hot to wear it all day.

My dd would NOT change after the BBB. She loved it so much she wanted to sleep in it. Everyone was calling her Princess and she couldnt get enough of it. she wanted t put it back on the next day. I did bring a change of clothes just in case!

I scheduled lunch in the castle right after BBB appt time, so she changed before hair and makeup so nothing happened to her dress beforehand. She then wore it the rest of the day.

We found a underarmor type shirt at Target and our little princess wore that under her dress and some cotton shorts. The shirt was alomst slevless and it pulled heat away from her and keep the dress from rubbing. If your princess insist on wearing her gown, you may want to look into somethign like that.

When DD dressed up for character meals, I put the dress over a tank top or thin tee and shorts. That way, if she wanted to wear it all day she could and still be comfortable. If she got tired of wearing it, I didn't even have to find a bathroom. I just helped her out of the dress right where we were and she was ready to go.
