Hi, I'm thinking of relocating to Florida and was wondering if anyone knows how to find out how much a Biomedical Engineering Technician is paid there (approximately) and where the best jobs are advertised. I have 20 years experience repairing medical equipment and was hoping that might help me get sponsored.

Any help or advice you can give would be very much appreciated.

Thanks

Paul

I know nothing about biomedical engineering employment opportunities in Florida but I'll bump this back to page one for you.

Hi, don't know about Florida med eng. jobs, but I live in a major medical community in MN.

Mayo pays well and benefits are excellent.

If you are a veteran, you could try one of the VA Hospitals. Biomeds are usually GS-10, 11, 12 or 13. You don't have to be a veteran, but it usually helps to get on. Check out the USAJobs website.

The biomedical industry was starting to boom down there about 3 years ago. There were several programs for people to go through. I even considered it. It think that it's one of the few fields that paid fairly decently in Florida. God knows medical assistants were not being paid jack, but that's another story. Maggie

Thank you all for your help. I think a lot of research is required before we make any decisions. I've e-mailed a couple of hospitals with jobs advertised, perhaps they can give me some advice for the future.

Thanks again

Paul :D
