Biodegradable Green Comfortable leather shoes, where are you?

Seems like this shouldn't be so hard, so many people still eat meat so there is leather as a byproduct that does not destroy the environment because it breaks down, I don't get it.

Why on earth is almost everything plastic now, is there a secret to finding leather shoes?

Just thought of something… cork wedge shoes have leather uppers and are biodegradable and probably green. Donald Pliner has been manufacturing them for many decades.

I've bought vegan & biodegradable from Zappos, they have a great selection. *didn't seek them out, just ended up that the shoes I liked were of that variety.

Vegan was Dankso, Bio was ... I can't recall because the dog ate one of them so I tossed the other and now I can't recall the brand! Sorry - but they are on the site.

But a quick google search gave me this info brought up a lot...Blueview sustainable shoes, CLAY, Noah, Kleman, and I'm sure a ton more.
