Bio/Picture thread to keep track of everyone?

As people come flooding onto this forum thanks to our great performances and scream teaming this weekend, I was thinking maybe we should have a sticky or something where we can post mini-bios and pics of ourselves if we feel so inclined.

This would allow those new people a way to get "caught up" with everyone and find out who's from where, what they do for a living, what other members of their family participate and so forth.

Heck I've been doing this a long time and yet I still sometimes see posts of other vets where I'm like "wait who's that again?"

I figure just 1 post per screenname would keep it from getting too ridiculous and making it easily searchable and provide for a lot of "ohhhhhhhhhhh THAT was that guy screaming for me in the median who looked like the dancing banana!"

So I better start! Matt is a 26 yr old USAF active duty member who flies out of Hurlburt Field near Pensacola, FL. Married to DW Cheryl who works in the same area as a project manager for a company that does fixture installations nationwide. Deploy on a somewhat regular basis every few months for a few months and thus find it difficult to plan for pretty much anything too far in advance. Been running with the WISH team for more than a few races now, and continue to sport the spirt when doing other events, which have included several triathlons as well including both the WDW Triathlon and the Ironman 70.3 at WDW. Known for running across large medians just to cheer on a fellow WISH team member.

This is a GREAT idea Matt!!!! :)

See.. if we wore pics of our avatars or siggie pics on our shirts everyone would know who we are!! LOL!!

So... how can we get this going? Lily?

Hopefully I'm not overstepping anyone here, since I haven't run in any Disney races, but I'm shooting for 2009, if that counts! I've been a WISHER for a while now, so I hope it's ok if I join in!

My name is Kim and I live just outside of Atlantic City, NJ. I have a great DH and two wonderful kids, DD8.5 and DS6. I work for the Federal Government as a program analyst.

Here's the picture from WDW Dec 2005 that made me realize that I needed a change:

I started meeting with a nutritionist and began running...and this was our trip in August, 2007:

Thanks for starting this thread! I'd love to learn more about my fellow WISHERS, especially if they could be cheering me on at a WDW race in the future! :thumbsup2

(if this isn't what you had in mind for the thread, I apologize)

I am not home yet. I was planning on trying to get our stickies up-to-date somehow.

I will sticky this thread when I return unless another idea pops up before then.

Kim- Welcome to the TEAM! Congratulations to you on your transformation! WTG. :thumbsup2

Here's a picture of us from Sept '07

This was a wonderful trip - but reinstilled how out of shape I am!

and why I'm 'old'
DSCN2132.jpg

My boys - they invited me down to the University of IL for Mother's Weekend, what a wonderful time!! My first born is getting married Jan '09 and I am determined to be healthier and fitter for the "event"...

I am blessed beyond belief in my life!! My 2 oldest boys are hard of hearing, so I stepped down from a classroom teacher and took on the task of "advocate" - currently I am a permanant substitute teacher. I have had a few challenges that sidelined me for a few weeks, but believe I am over one mountain, and can do it!! My dh of 26 years (and counting) is Tim - he joined the Scream Teamers and met more of the WISH team I think than I did!! He ran the marathon, his first in 19 years, and was embarrassed about his time - luckily he knew I wanted to "tour" the parks, so he didnt push himself!! He is a software design engineer ( self proclaimed computer geek!) and just started a new job - so his work hours can hit 80 in one week!! DD is 11 going on teenage - very stubborn at times, but she keeps us on our toes, and I dont feel as "old" as my birthdate proclaims me to be!!

Thanks Matt, I am new so I was just viewing their Public Profiles to try to figure out who everyone was, but many did not put information in their profiles.

So I need instructions 'For Dummies' on how you would like us to do this!

Congratulations, Kim :flower3: You look Terrific!

Nice Family Pictures, Sandy :cool1:

This thread is great idea!

Here is my family in WDW last August - my husband Tom (43), Annika (9), Will (13), Hannah (15 now, 16 in a few weeks - yikes!), Ally (7) & me (43).

(Yay - I figured out how to post pictures!)

We live in the Mt. Airy neighborhood of Philadelphia with our enormous Collie dog and three cats. I work in the school of my 3 younger children as the Director of Admissions. I really love my job - I helped found the school back when Hannah was just 2 years old. I have also just started a home-based travel business, Blue Sky Destinations, which is a wonderful new adventure for me.

My husband and I have been married for 20 years. We met when we were both just 18, and he truly is the love of my life! My kids are all amazing, and bless and challenge me each day.

I am so excited to be starting this new journey of running. I have always gotten away with taking my body for granted, and I am ready to begin to explore challenging myself in this way. I think that more than anything else, I love the idea of finally becoming an athlete. I am also excited that Tom has decided to do this with me. He doesn't Dis (at least not for now), but you will probably all get to know him anyway!

My avatar is me with my Donald '08 medal. Yep, you'd think by now I would remember to take off the sunglasses....this was not an issue at ToT... :lmao: I don't have any great pics of my whole family since I am the picture taker so I will have to check around for some singles of everyone!!!
