Bikes at POR?

Any info on bike rental and the times available at POR?
Also, where can you ride from POR? Can you go to POFQ? DTD? Just curious.

Several years ago, we stayed at POFQ (when it was just Port Orleans) and I attended a conference. While I was at my meetings, my husband and son got to play. One after noon, they rented bicycles at POR and rode them around the complex. Like from FQ to R. Can't leave the property with them (you'd have to ride on roads and that would not be safe).

POR rents regular bicycles as well as Surrey Bikes, which are like pedal-power carriages that accomodate either 2 or 4 adults, with room for 2 kids in the front "basket". They are soooo cool! Riding in the surrey bike w/ our 2 kids in the basket around the gorgeous POR grounds is one of our favorite WDW memories. The path winds along the Sassagoula river through the property, over the bridge, through both the mansion section and Alligator Bayou. It was lovely!!

We just rented the surrey bike for 4 on this last trip. It was so much fun. We were not allowed to go over to the FQ side though. I would def. do it again!

We just returned yesterday, and rented the surrey bikes on Friday. It cost about $22 for 1/2 hour. We were able to ride the bike route around POR twice in that time. It was a blast. We laughed and rang the little bell and laughed some more. You aren't allowed to leave POR with the surreys. The rental agent said they are more lenient with the regular bike rentals which were around less than $10.

We took the boat from POFQ to POR at 9:20am, they were already open when we got there. (So, I would say 9am). We rode the bikes for 1/2 hour and were finished about 10:10am and then headed to DTD by bus because the boat wasn't running to DTD yet. They open bright and early!
