Bike Racks Hilton Head Island

Hello,
My Family And I Are Going To Hh 08/26/06 For A Week And Are Thinking About Taking Our Bikes But Don't Know If They Have Bike Racks At The Resort. We Would Rather Not Chain Them To A Tree. Does Anyone Know If They Have Them And Are There Any Good Places To Ride There? My Kids Are Young 4 & 6.

We rent bikes when we are there, and everyone at the resort just seems to chain the bikes together to prevent them from being taken. Not sure at the resort if there are bike racks, but I know there is one at the Beach House. Also, when we ride off the resort on the island we always seem to find them. The general store on the way back from the Beach House has one -- and we lock it there when we stop for our slushies.

I don't recall seeing any bike racks by the villas at the resort. Due to the flood plane, all the units are built 1/2 floor above the ground. Most people just put their bikes under the steps and chain them together.

If you're in the lodge, I think there are bike racks underneath, in the parking garage area. If not, there are plenty of places there that you could secure them.

If you do take your bike, plan on riding on the beach. The sand there is so firm that riding is not difficult at all.
