bike and boat plan for SSR

Hi Everyone,

For those of you that have been to SSR do they have the bike and boat plan? If they do, can you tell me the cost. My kids would like to do this and want to start saving their money now for our trip in December.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

You can rent bikes, but they don't have watercraft rentals. I suspect it's due to its proximity to Downtown Disney where you can rent boats.

The age of the kids may make a difference in renting the water sprites. I would check on the latest rules regarding them before your kids get the heart set on renting them. I heard that you have to have a drivers license and be 16 in some places. just thought I would let you know. Maybe they don't have that requirement at the DD area, don't know.

We rented the the boats twice while at WDW in July 2004. Here is what we were able to do under the rules in effect at that time:

At the Yatch & Beach Club resorts: Our two 14 year old boys were able to each rent and drive their own new SeaRaycer boat alone. There was a 10% DVC discount.

At Downtown Disney: They were also able to rent and drive the boats alone, but DD still has the old Mercury Mouseboats. They were very slow compared to the last visit in 2002.

We did not go to or try to rent boats at a Magic Kingdom resort, but I have called and the age limit of 16 or older does apply there.

I concur that SSR does not have it's own rental marina, but does have rental bikes. My opinion is that the only place this plan makes sense is at WL and only if your kids are 16 or older also.
