Biggest Problem at Disney World

So, what is the biggest problem at Disney? No, it has nothing to do with crowds, prices, food, or where to stay/sleep.

It's hair! Yes, hair. That humidity, and heat always completely ruin my look enough so that I want to wear a bag over my head. Have you ever seen the 3 stooges? Well, I end up looking like the one with the curly, frizzy hair. (Look them up on youtube.) I live in a dry cold climate, and my hair is shoulder length, slight curl, or waves, and fine. That humidity is just not meant for my hair. Last time we were there, we started off with Splash Mt., and when I came out, my entire family broke down laughing. It's a fun topic at the dinner table. I grew up in Nebraska, and the summer humidity was so bad, you would get into bed at night, and the sheets were wet. My kid pictures show beautiful wavy hair with no frizz. What happened? A pony tail won't work because it is the bangs that are the worst! I need help; immediate help. We're going back in two months, and I need a solution.
The thing is that that when we get on that plane to come home, by the time we land in the mid west my hair is back to it's natural non-frizzy way of life.
Anyone know of a fail safe remedy, or do you at least have a bag I can borrow?

My daughter has the same problem. She uses Morrocan Oil and this seems to help tame things down. Unfortunately it is not a 100% fix so.....ponytails often are her new best friend in Florida. Also, you can alway buy a nice disney hat!

I have curly/frizzy/out of hand hair but I live in Georgia so I'm used to it. I just stick mine up in a pony tail at Disney and since I have to wear a hat for the sun anyway, my bangs don't matter.

I have fine hair with a slight wave.
I opt for a pony tail at the parks for the most part.
When I want to wear it down I use Herbal Essences Moroccan Me a Miracle 7 in 1 serum.
It smells great and makes my hair soft and smooth.

Mine always frizzes out and not in a cute way...so since I can't tame it... i put in curling gel, fluff it up ..leave it down with a cute headband or stick it in a messy pony..:)

Same here! I have to wear a hat and/or ponytail. Loose hair is simply not an option. It was seven years ago, but I still remember going to Raglan Road and watching the Irish dancer hopping around with perfectly straight, smooth hair and wondering HOW did she accomplish that??!!

Shea Moisture Curl and Style Milk. A little goes a long way, and it does a great job of dealing with frizz. Bonus: it doesn't get crunchy like mousse!

I can't wear my hair loose either, so I just slick it all back with gel and hairspray, and pull it into a bun. The only issue with that is that I have to use a ton of hairpins for the bun to stay put through all the rougher rides, but I manage!

My friend just took hairspray and sprayed her hair down once she got out of the shower so it didn't have a chance to get frizzy and big

Ponytails, braids, ballerina buns, or sunhats here. I typically give up trying to straighten or use products to de-frizz my hair by day 3. Even my daughters, who have hair that is less inclined to frizz, ask me to braid their hair every day by mid-trip, too.

I have very fine hair that gets frizzy and staticy and drives me crazy. I use Aveeno Nourish+Condition Leave In Treatment. It has a light, flowery scent that isn't overpowering, isn't stiff like hairspray, and tames the frizzies!

I have similar hair. I use a leave-in conditioner then a curling cream on top of that. I wash my hair at night then tie the wet hair up using the plopping method. It's essentially tying a t-shirt around your hair while it dries. The following morning, I let it down and let it finish drying then use a tie-around headband to keep it out of my face and off my neck. My hair is usually wild and this worked perfectly. I even had a couple of people comment on how nice it looked!

French braids then put both into buns. Add a clip on bow to make it look like Minnie Mouse ears or low buns to look like Princess Leia. Yes this is my plan when I go this summer lol

Wow! Thanks everyone. Sounds like I may not be the only one with this problem. Hey, maybe that is why Disney created ears. I want to try every single one of these solutions. I don't have enough days in Disney though, so I seriously am trying to recreate the humidity in my bathroom at home. I looked up all of the oils, have hats ready, and I'm going to try each one of these solutions. Maybe by the time I go, I will have it all figured out, and I can go on youtube, and get a million views, and become rich. You know, I don't have a problem with the curls, it is the frizz that does me in. Anyway, thank you for all the help!

Look up "curly girl the handbook" for me fighting frizz is all about leave in condish then a layer of gel. I live in AL so our humidity is very close to FL....even with those tricks if I'm at the park all day and it's hot...my hair is up due to the heat because it's thick. I use drugstore products suave coconut condish as a leave in ( half rinsed out) then I layer some herbal essences gel through it while it's dripping wet....then towel/ air dry.

But if you use a remedy what will we have to point at and laugh at. :jester:

I have naturally curly hair. Not really curly. . .more a frizzy, wavy mess. Definitely not pretty. Not even for around the house. I blow it dry every day. I use moroccan oil and a curling iron (to straighten) or a flat iron. It's a cute little bob when it cooperates. When we go to Disney, I get Biolage hairspray and spray the hell out of it in the morning. That way it looks good for our Memory Maker. The rest of the day is a crapshoot. If it rains, I'm done, it's a frizzy mess.

Hair is a big issue.

We travel with DH's cousin and her husband. Cousin has your identical problem and solved it last year with a "Brazilian Blowout" . She said it was kind of pricey, but well worth every penny. The treatment lasts for 3-6 months. We live in Rhode Island , right by the ocean :beach: , so we know all about humidity  Good luck with whatever you choose. pixiedust:
