Hear Ye, Hear Ye, the Weight Keeper speaks

We started the week with 68 participants. 8 folks have not checked in for three weeks and have been dropped from the challenge. Of course they will be welcomed with open arms if they decide to make a report to me in the future. Two former members have returned and we have added 1 newbie this week.

That makes our current head count at 63 current participants. 17 people did not check in for the week. 6 of them have missed 2 weeks, 11 have missed one week. Our 1 newbie will report his first weight change next week.

45 participants weighed in this week. We had 12 gains, 4 maintains, and 29 losses. This week we had a net loss of 50.3 pounds. Our current cumulative loss is 430.6 pounds.

And now (drum roll and fanfare please)

Great job Cathy. You may now claim your clippie

or you can use http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b322/ohmom/weeklyBL.jpg

followed by the backslash IMG "". Congratulations Cathy!!! Be proud of your accomplishment. Previous reigning Biggest Losers must now give up the clippie. Only one loser may reign at a time.

I do apologize that I have not posted our 1/3 of the way through the challenge figures yet. Some days my head just hurts too much to stare at numbers. I am finishing up those numbers and will eventually get them posted. It will list our top 23 losers. Why 23 you ask? Well because I said so.

Have you had the opportunity to be a superstar? If you are doing all that you can on this journey then you are a superstar even if your name does not appear on our weekly list. If you are not doing everything that you can on this journey then how will you make it to your destination of good health?

Take your baby steps and make small changes everyday. It may seem hard right now but it will get easier in time. It takes time to develop habits and we need healthy habits to help us lead a full and happy life.

Remember you are worth it.

Have a healthy day!

Congrats to all of the Superstars. An extra big congrats to Cathy! It's well deserved by all.

Congrats to all the stars this week....and everyone else too. The fact that you are here at all, whether losing or gaining, makes you a winner in my book.

My favorite form of exercise is running. I plan on starting to run when it starts to stay light out longer.

My biggest obstacle to exercising is well.....my lazy butt. Some days it takes a supreme effort to put on the DVD and do the workout. I feel better afterwards but man it can be a struggle.

OMG! I can't believe it but I just realized that I didn't send in my weight for the week. And it was a loss that would have put in the top 10 too :(. Oh well there is next week, I suppose.

My favorite I would say is my in home walking workouts. They are easy to do and there are such a variety of them that I dont' get board. I also like walking/hiking.

The biggest struggle that I have had to overcome is fitting it in. I have had to make it a priority. This means coming home and immediately making dinner, instead of going online. It also means that instead watching my soaps that I taped I workout. Even the nights I just dont feel like it I try to force myself because I know I will feel so much better afterwards.
So many times I hear the excuse that I just don't time. But if you make exercise a priority you CAN find the time. It might mean that you have to give up something (like a favorite program) or wake up early or something else. Finding the time to exercise is worth every minute spent on it.

Powerwalking is my favorite form of exercising because it gets me outside and it doubles as training for our WDW trips! I especially love walking along the beach at night. I find walking very relaxing (I guess it helps that I live in a rural area!) and it doesn't even really feel like exercising.

Winter weather and daylight savings made it difficult for me to go out and walk. I have to bring DGD5 with me in the stroller and it just got too cold for her! To overcome these obstacles I went out and bought an exercise bike.

There are many times I just don't want to exercise but I'll force myself to start. I'll tell myself that I'll just walk or cycle for a little bit but once I'm out there or on the bike, I'll finish the workout.

Last summer, my BP was starting a rise a little so I would also imagine that each step or each pedal was another drop in my BP! And it worked! I lost 17 pounds walking every night and my BP is back to below normal. Now I have to make sure it stays that way!

Good morning everyone and Happy Valentine's Day!

Congrats to everyone - especially our super stars of the week!

Be sure and take time today to care for someone you love - yourself!

Congratulations to the top ten this week, especially my buddy, mercobear!!!:cool1:

And congratulations to everyone else here. We may not make the top ten, but we are here and making small steps toward a healthier life. We can do it!!!!:cheer2:

My favorite exercise is walking when the weather is good. Right now I am doing the watp dvds and really like them, but will be happy when I can get outside regularly again. Quite a few years ago, when I was in much better shape than I am now, I used to bike all the time. I worked second shift, and would take a 12-25 mile ride most days before work. I really miss that, and this year, I am going to get out on my bike.

The hardest thing for me is finding the time to fit in exercise. I am a single mom to a 6 year old boy, since Jan first, I have been doing the watp videos 6 mornings/week before he gets up. It is the first time in ages that I have stuck with any regular exercise for longer than a week or two. I really like the fact that I can do the videos when he is home, and I don't have to get out of the house. I also like to get up and get them done, rather than thinking throughout the day about having to exercise when I get home. I tried to get him to join me on a kids walk on demand video, but he really had no interest. When he wakes up while I'm exercising, he'll come and watch, and point out to me when I do something wrong.:rotfl: For me, making this a routine and setting the alarm 30 min earlier has helped me keep it up.

Have a great day everyone!!

Good morning all and happy Valentines day.

I am so excited to see my name in the top ten. I hope it will keep me away from all the goodies people seem to need to bring in on Valentines day.

Congrats to all the losers. keep it up we are doing well.

My favorite exercise of step killed me last night. She decided to do double step for valantines day. Well they were too close together and I stepped on the one behind me and down I went. Twisted my sore knee and ankle. Nothing serious- except wounded pride and a little sore ankle this am.

have a great day and stay out of the chocolates.

Good morning everyone and Happy Valentines Day :lovestruc :lovestruc

Dh gave me some dark chocolate. When I told him that I gave it up for Lent he said "Happy Easter instead." He also gave me a talking Pepe LePew. I know he's not Disney but who can resist that French accent.

Congrats to all the winners. It looks like it was a great week for a lot of people.

Congrats to all the winners. I have bad news for me though..our computer broke down and we won't be able to replace until the stimulus checks come in, or should I say if?

I have 2 buddies and I'll be sending them a message to let them know about this.

Good luck to everyone maybe in May when i check in i'll be able to show you a newer, healthier, skinnier me.

Okay, exercise is not my favourite pastime, but I do feel better when I exercise regularly. Walking has been my usual choice recently, but the cold weather has made it difficult. In the summer, I like to swim and bike with my kids. In the past, I've bought a yearly pass to the local provincial park and we often go biking/hiking on the trails. Last year I didn't buy the pass and really noticed a drop in our overall physical activity. This week I'm going to try a couple of exercise DVDs/videos that I've bought (somehow they haven't helped me lose weight - maybe you have to actually use them for it to work - :rotfl: lol).

Procrastination - If I can put it off, I will. I've found I do much better with a buddy. I was walking three times per week with a friend and we rarely missed because it was also a chance to visit. I'm buddyless right now and finding it difficult to keep on track. This week I'm going to try the early morning approach and see if that helps.

 Happy Valentine's Day to all!

Congrats to all the top 10!!!

Guess I have to take my "weekly reigning biggest loser" off my siggie.:sad1:

Congratulations to the top ten losers:cheer2:

My Pitty Party- I kind of feel like i'm spiraling out of control on my eating and not exercising. I am back up over 300 lbs. I had such a great start then i got stressed out and things just spiraled. I'm not sure how to get it back. I start each day saying im going to make healthier choices and log what i eat in my sparkspeople but by lunch i have killed it by either not eating breakfast so im starving or eating something cheap because i'm on limited funds. I love my what i do for a living but the not knowing when or where your next paycheck is coming from is stressing me out. I'm afraid to spend money on lunch when it needs to go in my gas tank.
I know alot of you are thinking then why did you just go to wdw. I actually went for business. I had a meeting with a client in the area which went great and you know you cant go to the area without visiting the park. We also made it part of annettes bday celebration. We got $54 each way for airfare, annual passes that exprire the end of the month and DVC so our cost was little. Annette decided to spring for the basic meal plan and that was great.

Well enough of the pitty party.

MY Fav exercise i would say is running/walking very fast. I love to be out side and when the weather is good i could walk forever. I also love to swim.

Why i dont do it_:confused3 I really have no good reason, i know i should do it everyday, i have a nice park to walk in which they keep the trail clear of snow and a membership to a gym which i never use. I can always think up an excuse why not to do it(dogs need out, i have an early meeting, my back hurts, i have a hang nail:rotfl: ) maybe its motivation, maybe its lazyness, maybe its because when i was younger i could do so much more than i can now and feel guilty because i've let myself get in the shape im in.

Sorry this is so long just thought i would let you know where im at. I havnt given up but i need some help and a buddy

Amanda

 Amanda!

Trust me I know the feeling. When I first started WW about 4 years ago and got under 200 pounds I vowed I would never go back. Then I had stress at work and the pounds all came back on. I'm still trying to get under that number and while I'm close I just haven't managed it yet.

The thing is you made a start and you are worth it so you just need to keep going. We all need a pity party from time to time, but then put that energy into a workout, walk, etc. You can do it! You are worth it!

 :woohoo: WAY TO GO!!! To all the biggest losers, you ROCK!!!!!

Hi everyone,

HUGE CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL THE TOP 10. A JOB WELL DONE!

My hat is off to the top 10 and as for the rest of us, let's keep at it. We too are doing all the right things and the scale will catch up with us soon. THERE IS NO QUITTING HERE! The end date has been posted, we shall all go for it.

Enjoy the Valentine's Evening and I shall starting working towards sharing my thoughts/struggles with exercise as part of the current challenge tomorrow.

:)

Hello all,
I have been a disboards member (mostly lurker) for many years, but I have just discovered the W.I.S.H. board. Although I am late in signing up for the challenge, I just wanted to say hello and congratulate you all on your success.
My favorite exercises are strength training and water aerobics, but I actually enjoy most forms of exercise (once I make myself do it).
My most recent struggle has been lack of motivation. Even though I enjoy exercise, I was not making it a priority and just never seemed to get around to it. In the last couple of months I have been able to overcome this obstacle by finding a workout partner. We encourage each other and hold each other accountable, and this has made all the difference.
