I love this show - it is so inspirational...these people work so hard and get such great results. But I have to admit after watching the season opener this week... I just wanted to cry after I watched Jillian SCREAM :scared1: in Amy's face (is that her name? purple team) I realize they need to be pushed but I thought that was totally humiliating. I think I might have just walked away from the whole thing if someone treated me that way... on national television!!!! IMHO, it is one thing to be pushed and motivated in a tough way, and it's another thing for someone to absolutely SCREAM in your face. It made me sad. I give the people on the show all the credit in the world... it is such a great opportunity to go on this show to hopefully turn your life around and learn to eat/live healthy...I guess it makes for good reality TV but for me it was painful to watch...nobody deserves to be treated that way, weather they agree to it or not! Just wondered if anyone else is with me on this...??? :surfweb:

I watched TUesday night also, and it was the first time I watched the show. (I've heard lots about it and seen bits and pieces, but never sat and watched a whole show.) Jillian freaked me out with her style of "motivation". I don't so much mind the yelling to get you pumped up...sometimes I'm silently yelling at myself...it's the things she said that really bothered me. I know I'd have a really hard time giving her my all when she's yelling negative things at me. I want someone to pump me up, not put me down.

On a side note, I think I'm really going to like this show. I already find myself gravitating to the father/daughter team....I SO want the Dad to become healthier. I want them all to succeed, but the first night the parent/child teams really kept me interested.

I watched Tuesday too--I love BL. It was kinda hard to see her yelling like that, but IMO, you know ahead of time what you're getting into w/Jillian. In fact sometimes I picture her in my head yelling that way at me when I am on the elliptical. :lmao:

Jillian has talked about why she does this in her podcasts before. I believe they are so hard on them at the beginning (she isn't this bad as time goes on) because they have to break them down in order to get into their heads and get them to do the work they need to do. Sort of like a drill seargent. I know that I have heard both Jillian and Bob talk about how most of them throw up becuase it's the toxins being released. I think its a process and even Bob is hard on them in a different way.

She may be hard on them at the beginning but they learn to love her. She really cares for them - you should see the way she talked about the teams over the summer.

I really enjoy that show. Did anyone have to laugh though when one of the commercials were about buying chips and snacks. I realy LOL at that one.

Yes I absolutely love when they have commercials for JUNK foods during diet, exercise, weight loss shows. At least this one was technically for Walmart but still...
