Big Ticket Dilema!!!

I've searched this board and found nothing similar so here goes....We are going to WDW (6 of us) in January. I bought park hopper tickets before the prices went up recently for all of us. We are staying at BCV, not a direct booking through Disney. Now they have the "upgrade a base ticket to park hopper and water park and more" deal going for the time period we'll be there. If I hadn't bought tickets already could I have booked a value room for one night and purchased 7 day tickets to get the upgrade? Would it still be worth it to do that and sell the park hoppers I currently have? I'm kinda' bummed because we had planned on going to Disney Quest and Pleasure Island anyway, paying for the tickets above and beyond the cost of the park hoppers. Any advice is gretly appreciated. Thanks.

Buy new tickets with free hopping and water park fun to cover your package vacation (1 day?) and also your BCV vacation (6 days) following. Leave the old hoppers at home saved up for a yet future trip.

By the time you go on that next future trip Disney Quest could have closed down so you might not need water park fun purchased for those tickets. Unless the ESPN Zone that will take DQ's place becomes a water park fun venue.

Disney Quest is closing?

Maybe find out how much it costs to get into Disney quest, pay for that separately and use the tickets that you bought. Often in January it's too cold too swim and that part might be wasted.

Seashore, I'm confused. Are you saying that I can't book one night at a value and purchase a 7 day MYW ticket with the free upgrade or that I can? You see I currently have no package. The BCV stay cannot be part of a package. And my tickets were purchased separately.

It was always my understanding that a package had to be a minimum of 3 nights.
