Just a refresher--a spur of the moment trip with NO KIDS AND NO PETS!\

Cast-
Kathy, motor-home driver extraordinaire, 47
Barbara-'kid-sister' to Kathy and author of this report, 45
Debbie-friend and co-worker, 47
Minnie, 31 foot Winniebago Minnie class C motorhome, also known as Nana's Little House

We awoke at the Flying J south of Valdosta about 6 a.m. and found that several of our neighbors had already pulled out. We each had a little quiet time in the bathroom and then hit the road. We had gassed up the night before, and even though we ran the generator all night, the gas guage wasn't even down to full.

We headed south, watching for an accessible Hardee's for breakfast. We tried an exit that we thought was the right one, and then headed south again (empty-handed). We finally found the right exit and got our last good biscuit-fix for a few days.

We arrived at the Publix on 192 at about 10 a.m. We had brought some items and lots of bottled water, but picked up the rest of the groceries we would need. Then we headed down the road to Camping World to pick up a couple of little things.

We arrived at the gates of Fort Wilderness about noon. At FW if you are camping you have drive-up check-in. They had us checked in quickly, but our site wasn't ready yet. They sent us to the parking lot to wait, and gave us the number to call to check on our site. While we were waiting we fixed our lunch and got our fanny packs ready. We made sure to pack disposable ponchos--GOOD THING!

Called the front desk about 12:45 and they gave us our site number so we headed in. Our site was in the 1900 loop. We found our site, backed in and had it set up in about 30 minutes. Then we got our bikes off the rack and headed off to the comfort station.

We were finished and ready to hit the parks by 3:00. We rode our bikes to the marina and caught the boat over to the MK. That's when the magic really hits me--on that boat!

When we got to MK we headed straight over to ride COP, with no wait. Then we walked over to TTA, which had a line! Rode that, and then saw that it looked like rain. We headed over to Cosmic Ray's for supper. We ordered the family chicken dinner with free cups of water. Good meal, as usual. While we were eating the skies opened up and we were glad we had packed ponchos!

The rain had slacked up slightly when we were finished, so we hit the bathrooms and ducked into Mickey's Startraders and shopped a little. The rain chose not to leave, so we broke out our ponchos and headed over to Adventureland. We checked out the Jungle Cruise, but they were closed due to the weather. So we stopped at POC. Debbie had never done this--her trips had always included lots of family members and they had missed several of the tamer rides. We rode POC and then headed back to see of JC was going again. The CM said soon, so we got FPs for it and went through the Swiss Family Treehouse. Lots of fun after a heavy rain with wet shoes. Then we were within a few minutes of our time for JC so we asked if we could go on in. The CM said sure, so we did that with a half-boat load of Brazilians who had no clue what our 'Cruise Director' was saying.

The rain had stopped by then, so we headed to Frontierland. We stopped at Splash Mountain--70 minute wait!-- and got FPs for it. We went to BTMR and it had a posted wait of 30 minutes so we hopped in line. As I said, the rain had stopped and much of this line is under cover so we took our ponchos off. BIG MISTAKE! We loaded our train car, and I rode alone in the very front with Kathy and Debbie behind. We hit the open air and it was POURING! It was raining so hard that we couldn't even open our eyes. Within seconds we were so wet that we were sliding from side to side in the seat. We would enter a cave or tunnel and try to open our eyes just in time to hit the pouring rain again! That was the wildest ride I have ever been on. With your eyes closed you could not even begin to anticipate directions, and it was so wet it was like being on a water slide!! Everyone was screaming and laughing their heads off!!

Thats a little too much excitement for me! LOL I cant imagine not being able to see for the rain.

Now that sounds like fun to me!! :D I love Thunder, and anything to make it more exciting (while keeping it safe) would be a blast :D

Off to your next installment

That BTMR ride sounds like a lot of fun! LOL At least it was something different.:D
