Does anyone know when BTMRR will be reopening? I thought it was originally scheduled for October 30 but now I'm seeing possibly winter of 2014. We are going from October 25 to November 1 and my 6 year old daughter is already freaking out that she only gets 1 day to ride it. It's always been her favorite ride. If anyone can help me out with more info I would greatly appreciate it!!

Hi! There's another thread on the forum's 1st page discussing BTMRR's closure. The official announcement is Winter 2014, which to me means their maintenance team can't give a date when it'll be finished. That's not a good sign. Disney is very good about keeping to their refurbishment schedules so I'm guessing the delay is caused by a 3rd party vendor, one they don't have much control over. Like for example they need components to the coaster and they aren't even manufactured yet.

IMO, there's no way they'll have it running before your trip is finished. We're going December 7-15 and we have no expectation it'll run then, either.

Just saw this on another board. Poster said she took it yesterday...

One place states it will re-open "Winter of 2014". ......:confused3
Winter ends March 19, 2014

The sign on the wall of the ride "Re-Opening Early 2014. ......:confused3
I feel early 2014 is January 2nd, how about you? ....;)

It's bad news for all of us that love BTMRR.

Let her know she can stop "freaking" out. She'll have to wait to ride it on another visit.

We missed it on our last trip, Feb 2013 and will miss it again this trip. I even planned this trip with two days into November so we'd be able to ride. So much for think ahead and planning....

With BTMRR closed  during our next trip, it means I'll have to plan another trip. :thumbsup2

Now I need to decide when to book....
My dates will need to be for either Early 2014 or the first day after Winter 2014. :lmao:

Geemo, we're planning our next trip to be October 2014. I think that gives us plenty of wiggle room but still, let's hope BTMRR is up and running by then! :rotfl2:

I'm sorry your daughter is upset. My 4 kids are too, as well as dh and I. We come from Australia and were so glad that btmrr was going to be up and running for our November trip. We don't know if we'll ever be back, so we may never ride it again. It doesn't stop me wanting to go, but is very disappointing.

Bummer. I'm not sure I will even tell my boys. We are going in November and they love this ride. Maybe I will tell them the night before at the hotel. :)

I was just there on Sunday and the poster said Fall 2013.

Did not give an exact month.

I did this exact thing last time we went (Jan28th thru Feb3rd) this year. Every time I looked at the refurb list, another thing had been added.

Here are few of the thing closed while we were there.
Mark Twain Riverboat, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, It’s a Small World, Splash Mountain, Mad Tea Party, Grizzly River Run, Muppet Vision 3D and Main street station.

Splash and Big Thunder are family favorites.

I just hope Splash isn't down on this next trip. I had added days to the trip just to enjoy BTMRR, when the re-opening date was 10-30. Oh well...

We really enjoyed the last trip, so I know we'll have fun this time too.
The grandkids are saying... A week at Disney is better than a week of school. Even though they are having to work ahead on class assignments, so they won't be behind when we return.

BTRR is only one ride.... Hopefully everything else will run smoothly.

Geemo

I know it's just one ride, but it's such an important one! I went to Disneyland twice as a child (once when I was 5 and once when I was 8). For years, BTMRR was just the quintessential ride that I thought of when I thought of Disneyland - it was always my absolute favorite! When I took my girls, it immediately became my youngest's favorite ride as well. We've had APs this past year (they just expired last month) and we've missed BTMRR for all of 2013. As my daughter says "It just feels like the visit was incomplete without it". I must say, I agree.
