Big Thunder Mountain Historical Rehabs

We are beginning to plan a trip in November of 2006 and were wondering if there was anyone out there that knows when Big Thunder Mountain has gone done for rehabs in the past. We visited in November of 2000 and 2003 and both times Big Thunder Mountain was down for a rehab. November is a time that has worked great for our family. It would be disappointing if it was down again when we visit in 2006. We would appreciate any information that anyone could share realizing that past history does not necessarily predict future events.

No worried, BTMRR went down for a lengthy refurb in late 2003-early 2004. I know it was down in March when we were there.

We've been twice in Sept. and just missed the rehabs by a couple of days or less....not sure if that's always the time they do it or not though.

In 2003, we were there the end of aug, begining of sept and it was down then. I too hope this is not an every year thing! We really missed not being able to ride it! Sept is always our vacation time, and the dh and kiddos will be bummed!
Anyone know about this?
When do the rehab lists for fall come out?

Often there is little advance notice of a rehab. If we're talking about a major project, rumors might begin to circulate 2-3 months in advance. For example, the entire Land pavilion at Epcot is closed now to integrate the new "Soarin" ride and re-theme the pavilion. That closure was known quite a bit in advance. Sometimes it's just weeks or days ahead of time. And, there are also the unexpected closures.

The best thing you can do to avoid rehabs is to avoid the rehab seasons. The most likely periods for ride rehabs are January & February and September thru mid-November. Those are the lowest attendance periods, and also have few major holidays.

Even then, some rehabs are too extensive to be contained to those narrow windows. It's a Small World has been closed for almost a year now.

I go in November every time i go to WDW in November 2002 it was open for me! November 2004 was open, expert for one day it was closed like half of the day

the other times i went i din't ride it which was 1997, 2000
