I wanted to shout a huge thank you to the Chicago meet folks who debated the pros and cons about what I should do about getting a new computer.
You lovely folks know who you are.
Well, I bought one. From Dell, and I'm getting $250 back in rebates. I have a 17" LCD monitor and a 2.53 Pentium 4 processor with enough memory for my needs, and a CD-RW (didn't need the DVD-RW but have a player, too).
Big thanks for the new computer discussion, and I didn't drop off the face of the planet.
