She didn't want to give us her Disboards screen name. All I know is that she's about a week into a 24 day vacation. Does anybody know someone on an extended vacation to WDW right now? I'd really like to know who she is on here so I can actually thank her personally.

My fiance and I were just walking around the Magic Kingdom today when she saw a woman wearing a lime green shirt with the Disboards logo. We stopped her to say hi and we talked a bit about various things, mainly involving Disney and the Disboards and then for no reason but her own generosity, she gave us a voucher to skip to the front of the line on any one ride at the Magic Kingdom, which we chose to use on the Haunted Mansion. Neither of us could believe that someone would be so generous and I just wanted to express my deepest appreciation (and the appreciation of my fiance) for the gift!

Just wondering why she didn't want to give her disboard name to you. Maybe she wants to remain annonomous and if she does then you should respect that. It sounds like she was a disboard guardian angel in a way....
She made your life a bit easier, she put the magic back in your trip and just wanted to do it with our all the roconition, she sounds like a wonderful and giving person.

I don't think I'd track down which DIS'er it is if she didn't want to give her DIS screen name to you. Whoever this is sounds humble and very kind. I hope they have a wonderful extended vacation!

Maybe the person doesn't like to post their vacation dates for the world to know they are away from their house. She might have thought you would post online about the meeting & then everyone would know her house was unoccupied for an extended period of time.

That is what I was thinking as well. Also I would not want to give my username out to people if I met them at the world or land. it would make me very unconfortable. but I wouldn't go to deep into this situation.

Mnementh, it sounds to me like you are describing SlightlyGoofy, just as the others have said. She is presently on an extended vacation in WDW.

I had the pleasure of meeting SlightlyGoofy during one of my own WDW vacations. I actually have a photo of the two of us in one of my on-line photo albums (she’s on the right): click here. Is that the woman who gave you the voucher?

When SlightyGoofy and I (and her husband) hung out in the Magic Kingdom, she was proudly wearing her lime-green Dis t-shirt. I also saw her doing lots of nice things for those around her, especially the children, as everyone waited for SpectroMagic and Wishes to begin. She is one of my absolute favorite Dis’ers and one of the nicest people whom I have ever met. I hope you got to meet her, too, and experience her beautiful personality in real life. But if you met someone else, it sounds like this other woman may be SlightlyGoofy’s long-lost twin sister.

By the way, congratulations on your engagement.

Howdy folks! Thank you for all the kind words (OLDER???? ) HUMBLE????

I especially thank you for a few extra special moments I had this trip. The first one was when I ran into a woman I had never met before in my life who called me by name. screen and real, who recognized me from this thread. I also ran into other folks who did also. My favorite part of DW is the folks I meet. I may not always remember their names but I do remember their stories.

I did nothing that any of you would not have done in the same situation. That is why I love DW and DISers. The small things I did were in payment for the many kind things that folks did for me also. If only the real world was more like this.

We got home late last night and I have a few minutes until I go to pick up my gsons from school as they have a half day. Not much work will be done today but lots of fun will be had.
