Did I hear that right tonight on the news? That there is the potential for a big snow on Thursday night into Friday? I live near Philly and I think that is what I heard on Tv, but I was in a different room than the TV.

Please say it isn't so. :scared1:

I heard it too. I think it's an April fools joke :)

I remember being in Florida for Easter Break about 13 years ago..we were visiting my folks in WPB and were set to leave on 4/1. We woke up that morning all packed and ready to go, headed to the pool for some last minute relaxing. My uncle (who also lived in the same complex) was in the activity hall watching the news when he came out and said the east coast was going to be hit with a massive storm. Of course we thought he was playing an april fools joke on us, but NOOOOO it was the biggest storm in history and the whole east coast was shut down for 2 days! We had to go to the airport to "check in" and then were told to go home and we got to spend three more days in FLA while they dug out the airports!

I really hope it goes out to sea- I've had all I can take. Plus my son has an appointment with an allergist Friday- we have had to go without all his allergy meds since Monday- no way am I cancelling this appointment!

I remember that storm, we lost power for the entire day. Now about 27 years ago there was a doozy April 10th that dumped so much snow that school was closed for several days. It was right near Easter so the kids had their snow days and their Spring break all at once. It was crazy!

I am supposed to be headed to NC for work on Friday, but I am thinking I might need to do some rearranging. I am guessing the kids will have their 6th snow day. We are supposed to get 8-14 inches.

Argh!!!!!

Maine is in for it and its heavy snow, wet, poor visability.....and on and on .....I hate snow...Hopefully it melts fast.....

I remember the one April 1 of that year.....I had friends that were leaving from Boston Airport to go to Disney and they couldnt get out.

Take care everyone

Oh no, not again! We've had enough this year :sad2:

Heard this morning that it might be a Nor-Easter.I'm praying it isn't.I have my sister in laws father funeral that morning and my parents are driving home from Fl on Friday.

Hopefully we don't get anything big, last night (5pm) on our local news the weatherman said not a lot of snow and it should not close schools. Also ours is to come tonight into tomorrow.

Of course they have been wrong in the past.

awwwwww sugar! My doggone Snow Crocuses can't catch a break and my Daffodils are standing there just waiting to open up . Punxsutawney Phil is a dirty little fibber.

Please, please, please actually hit Frederick, MD this time. We have missed EVERY major storm this year. And I mean EVERY one! Last year though, we got whalloped but I loved it!

ETA: Yes, I realize I'm not quite in the NE but I still hope! ;) lol

I remember that April Fools blizzard. The city was a mess! It was a mix of rain, ice, and snow. My husband and I were out to dinner when it started and there was huge amounts of ice just pouring out of the sky! We were around the corner from our apartment so the restaurant gave us a cardboard box for protecting our heads and we ran home with it as a shield!

This morning I heard it should be mostly rain, at least in the Boston area.

::yes:: 1998
My employer closed that day - had an emergency number to call, with an outgoing message stating that, but no indication Tuesday that there was no work. So I went in. Broken branches, low-hanging wires, poorly-plowed roads...none of that stopped me. It wasn't until I was driving up the long, deserted road to our building and realized snow was "splashing" past both sides of my car - as if I was driving through a deep puddle - that I realized the road wasn't plowed and nobody was going to be at work!

Fortunately, some construction workers down the road had seen me drive past and knew I was going to get stuck. Two came up and got me out.
