DH brought up the fact that DD wouldn't eat much if we kept our ADR at Biergarten (an OOP meal), and he was right. So we cancelled that ADR and have decided on Big River Grille on the Boardwalk for that evening's meal instead. We've looked at the menu and website and think it's a good change, but I'm fishing for opinions! (And pics, if anyone has any!)

Thanks!:cool1:

I'm on the Ohio too - Southwestern. I went to Big River twice during the Princess Half. I had the Hickory Bacon Burger with fries and a beer flight. I loved the burger. It reminded me of a really good homestyle burger. I'm not a beer fan at all, but it was enjoyable too. We had dinner there before the half and I had the Hazelnut Crusted Chicken. It was mouthwatering good.

One thing to keep in mind is this restaurant doesn't accept ADR's, but we didn't have any difficulty getting a table.

I'm in Cinci! We're neighbors! I would also like to hear opinions too, thinking of going there, we arrive in 2 weeks at BCV. I'm thinking of going there our first night. Only night we don't have ADR.

We love BRG. It's not fancy but a nice place to relax with good food on The Boardwalk. It's generally our first stop for a quick lunch once we arrive and on our way to Epcot. We often stop for an appetizer and drink between walking from HS to Epcot, and vise versa, if we want an afternoon snack. I like their Mahi Mahi sandwich.

I have the opposite opinion. We were there last night. This place is horrible!! My wife got a steak, mashed potatoes, shrimp, and vegetables. First shot it came out freezing cold. Second time, it was hot, but she said it had no flavor. The shrimp was tough, the vege's were just gross, and the potatoes bland. She said she's had better at Chili's, or even IHOP! I had the BBQ Bacon Cheeseburger with kettle chips. The kettle chips tasted just like they came out of a Lays bag from Wal-Mart. The burger was just mediocre, nothing spectacular. The cheesecake was mediocre. Not worth wasting $50, or a couple table service credits. Skip this. For short notice, try the Trails End Buffet at the Fort Wilderness Campgrounds. We went there tonight. Wonderful!!! Excellent fried chicken!! For burgers and such, Planet Hollywood is even better, or the Pop Century Cafeteria, LOL! Steaks definitely are the best at Le Cellier.

We've been to Big River Grill a couple of times and we have enjoyed it. It is not gourmet food, but we didn't expect it to be. We would go back again.
I understand that although they don't take ADR's through the Disney dining line, you can call the restaurant directly. I don't think it is usually needed, but an option.

Big River Grille is a great fall back option for us when we don't want a reserved table service and we don't want counter service. No reservations accepted via the normal routes so it's basically a walk up situation which is nice for having no plans for a meal. Never been disappointed with the food or the service. It's a brewhouse (they do make their own beer there) so don't expect gourmet food but what they have is good plentiful and doesn't break the bank. My husband loves the beer flight and the servers we've had (we've been there at least five times) have all been very knowledgable about it and were able to answer any questions we had.

It's bar food. I won't eat any of the fancier items on the menu, but I've always had good burgers and sandwiches there and the beer is just great. Probably the best beer on property, although that's not saying much.

It's okay no big deal. I wouldn't go out of my way to eat here. There are much better places to go to. Just my opinion.

We LOVE this place. We go every vacation. Sometimes twice ( since we stay at BCV most of the time ). It's family friendly ( don't let the "brew works" part scare you off ), has a good variety of dishes to choose from. AND if it's niec out, has an amazing terasse right on the boardwalk.

We just ate at Big River on Sat night. I had a burger (very good) with homemade chips that were excellent, my husband had the meatloaf which he said was great. My nephew had the salmon and he cleaned everything from his plate. It was a very good meal.
