I've heard mixed reviews on this restaurant....
I'm meeting my brother who lives in Florida for dinner on a day we are in Epcot. I want to eat somewhere close to Epcot, not in the park, and I'm with a relatively picky 11 yr old.
My thoughts after looking at Boardwalk restaurant menus is that the Big River meets all my requirements.
It appears to be basic food(which my DD11 will eat)
It isn't to expensive( as oposed to the alternatives)
Its located in a place that is easy to get to from both inside and outside of Disney.
If you have eaten there, tell me what you thought.
Thanks

The food is okay. We ate dinner there last year and thought the place was really noisy. We also thought it was kinda cozy. The tables seemed pretty close together.

We ate there in December, and the food was OK. Not great, but not horrible. Kind of where I would rate Applebees and places like that. We did have a very nice server though, which was great!

One nice thing about it is you don't need an ADR. And its nice to eat there and then walk along the boardwalk after! We ate inside because it was kind of chilly the night we ate there, but I think the outside tables would actually be nicer to eat at if the temp is good!

Sports fans? ESPN club is about 300 yards away, and has great burgers.

Big River Grille or ESPN Zone would suit your needs...like the others have said, food on par w/ your local Applebee's or TGI Fridays. ESPN has TVs all over w/ sports going; at Big River Grille, they have some interesting beers to sample.

Neither one accept ADRs.

I loved Big River...Ate there last May, and it's on my definite liste for thsi May...

BRG is pretty ordinary in most respects, but should suit your requirements. Stick with a hamburger and you should be fine.

I was thinking about trying this restaurant this trip. I knew that ESPN zone didn't accept ADR's, but I didn't know that the BRG doesn't either.

We are going the end of August. Do the wait times for BRG get out of hand at dinner time?

When we ate there we felt that overall it was ok. It wasn't spectacular and we wouldn't go out of our way to go there again. The food was good but felt it was overpriced for what you got.

As for wait times, it all depends on when you go. We have seen lines out the door and then the next day it was almost empty.

We have eaten there quite a few times (the last time being this past November) and have always liked it very much. They have GREAT meatloaf. I guess the food is basic good food. The inside is a bit noisy though - we usually try to eat outside but this past November it was a bit too cold to do so.

I've heard Big River Grill has a beer flight so it think we might go there. We have an ESPN Grill here at Disneyland so I can really go there whenever.....

We like the Big River Grill only if we can get seated outside. We love to dine out on the Boardwalk watching the people, listening to the sounds. I will never eat inside again.

We love the Grilled Maetloaf but it is all about the atmosphere.

Decent quality "pub grub", burgers, nachos, sandwiches, salads... but the highlight for me is the beer!

Outstanding quality micro brews at reasonable prices. If you or your brother enjoy beer this is the spot!

I love beer!!!!!!:drinking1
I also enjoy a good meatloaf, so I think I will be all set!!!!
I was wondering about wait times as well.Monday during April vacation week at 6pm
Thoughts?

You will enjoy it. If the weather is nice see if you can get an outside seat. it's fun to watch the people and the boats.

This is true about virtually every single WDW restaurant.

I do lunch here once or twice on every trip to WDW. Food is pretty good (much better than ESPN Club, which is horrible, in my opinion) and the beers are good. It is also nice to get a table outside and enjoy the sights and sounds of the Boardwalk while you eat.
