Okay, since the Vero Beach Resort will be closed for our upcoming trip, we now have 12 meals at WDW instead of eight.

My wife and I are attempting to try one new restaurant each visit, and this trip we are debating between Big River Grille & Brewing Works, and Spoodles.

I absolutely love sampling micro-brews, but on the other hand, my wife absolutely hates it when beer is my focus.
Let's just figure the brew sampling thing, is a wash.

Which one of these two would you pick, and why?

Thanx...

If you can't consider the beer, then Spoodles wins - no contest as far as I'm concerned!

We've given the Big River two chances. Both times the service was inattentive/slow and the food mediocre at best.

At Spoodles, we received excellent service and enjoyed the food.

Big River is probably less expensive than Spoodles, but that's the only positive I'm willing to give it. (I like my entrees delivered when they are still hot, not ice cold)!

Maybe you could eat at Spoodles and then just enjoy a beer (or two or three) afterwards. If you go in the evening, it's kind of fun to people watch from the BR tables out on the Boardwalk.

Best wishes -

Spoodles is definitely the better of the two. We also gave Big River Grille 2 tries and don't plan on a 3rd. Food was only so so. The salsa served with the chips was the worst I've ever had, might as well have been catsup.

This is a reply I posted from another thread. I feel so strongly about this place that I am repeating it...

OK, Ours was probably an isolated incident but we never even made it through dinner!

To start the waitress was visibly annoyed that we were not ordering alcoholic drinks (it was lunch), had grease all over her hands and touched our soda glasses and then when we complained she said it was the restaurants fault because they didn't wash the dishes well and used her fingernail to scratch the now congealed grease (melted butter) off our glasses!!!! I SWARE I am telling the truth! Needless to say we were appalled and asked for new beverages in clean glasses and that sent her over the edge! She huffed and stormed off! At this point my DH said that's it we are out of here, so when she returned we told her we were leaving and she handed us a bill for the drinks we had refused!!!

NOW WE ARE FUMING! We called the manager and explained everything to him and he really was extremely upset with this woman and we even overheard him tell the hostess to not sit anyone else in her area...

Again, this probably was an isolated incident but it turned us off completely!
Sorry I couldn't be more positive!

Why not please both of you.

Big River has excellent beers..so why not grab a sampler at big river with a couple appetizers. If the weather is great..sit outside, overlooking the water and you can relax and people watch.

Then..check out the resorts/shops and have dinner at Spoodles.

Then enjoy the activities on the Boardwalk after dinner. Makes for a great evening..especially if you stop in Jelly Rolls.

Thanx to all for the replies. :D
It looks like beer samples, then Spoodles, then back to beer samples, then over to Jellyrolls for a couple beers..... Oh, and then directly onto the floor, since that's where my wife will make me sleep! :teeth:

Emme- Interesting report, but did I miss which restaurant you are referring to?

Thanx again...

Spoodles is one of our favorite restaurants at WDW. We always eat there at least once on every trip.

OOPS! Sorry I cut and pasted from another thread:confused:
